Wow EG, that is gorgeous. I do like the longer view the most although I like both. I am finding that the longer view is sometimes better. Never though I'd say that. LOL
Well, this is a first for me...a blue barn. I LOVE it....blue is probably my favorite color. The photos with the gorgeous sky and the wonderful traditional fencing make for lovely shots. Thanks for the visit and the comments. genie
this looks like the perfect barn, it is beautiful, the fence makes it even prettier, but I am thinking I like the vertical view best of all. that sky is spectacular.
I think I'm in agreement with those who prefer the vertical composition, even though the fence is less obvious. Have you played with HDR imaging on this photo? It is so surreal in a way. Thanks for your visit to my blog.
It's a lovely view. I tore down the rickety fence in my backyard. Will it look like that when I'm done repairing (replacing) it? Gee, that would be nice!
Gorgeous sky! I actually think I prefer the vertical, even though the barn isn't so clear. The composition is good :)
To answer your question about private land and the style... All land in the UK is owned by someone and most footpaths cross privately owned land. Access rights are negotiated and walkers and vary according to location and type of land. Most of Dovedale is National Trust which means it is open access, but the land above Hall Dale is farmland and enclosed. Walkers must keep to the footpaths. Access followed a long battle culminating in the mass trespass of Kinder Scout in 1932. You can read about it here: http://www.derbyshireuk.net/kinder_trespass.html
Catching up with my blogging friends and what a beautiful sky you welcomed me home with this morning. Thanks for calling by to listen to some music while I was away.
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Well, there are no cities around here but I do like fences. Perhaps I'll post one one of these days!
Nice choice for theme day.

A gorgeous capture. So much detail. :)
Such a beautiful vista! The white fence reminds me of many of our horse farms herein Ocala. Love the pinkish sky!
Spectacular theme day post. Enjoy November.

Sorry about the typos in there. Multi-tasking :(
Both images are gorgeous and suitable for framing! I particularly like all that pink in the clouds in the portrait version.
