It's a lovely view. I tore down the rickety fence in my backyard. Will it look like that when I'm done repairing (replacing) it? Gee, that would be nice!
Gorgeous sky! I actually think I prefer the vertical, even though the barn isn't so clear. The composition is good :)
To answer your question about private land and the style... All land in the UK is owned by someone and most footpaths cross privately owned land. Access rights are negotiated and walkers and vary according to location and type of land. Most of Dovedale is National Trust which means it is open access, but the land above Hall Dale is farmland and enclosed. Walkers must keep to the footpaths. Access followed a long battle culminating in the mass trespass of Kinder Scout in 1932. You can read about it here: http://www.derbyshireuk.net/kinder_trespass.html
