That common merganser is probably lost 'cause, like a male, he wouldn't ask for directions. He could be in Florida by now!

Cantankerous waves happening there with a bit of help from "no-nonsense - get-out-of-the-way" winds I imagine! A sense of exhilerating wildness in this scene guaranteed to encourage dreams of hot cocoa indoors!

Your first photo would be a perfect subject for a watercolor. It already looks somewhat like one. Very interesting view.
