Red-shouldered Hawk/World Bird

 Red-shouldered hawk

We drove by, then had to back up.  The hawk used the tree for cover and I used the car... but we both knew the other was there.

Wary but in a better spot for a shot

How nice of the hawk to pose for me!

I am linking yo World Bird Wednesday.

This is such a wonderful picture of this beauty. You are so lucky that he didn't fly away before you got these shots as is what usually happens to me.

Awesome captures!
I often see hawks here, but normally when I'm driving on the highway, and stopping would not be a good idea!

Excellent photos! It's great that you manage to get such sharp photos of birds. I think it always difficult to take photos of them.
Have a great week!

Great picture - I don’t seem to have much luck with birds of prey.

Well done.

You got one on me. I never get to see these beautiful birds in my backyard but I do see the Coopers and Sharp-shinned hawks. And I am able to get some good shots of them. This is a mature bird, I see and a nice one.

A nice little game of hid-an-seek you both played and you both were successful in that: you got your shots and he got you to go away. Nice captures.
