This is a great time to walk the trails in the Provincial Forests in and around East Gwillimbury. Red trillium are in full bloom as are many other wildflowers.
We often see white trillium in the mountains, but red trillium are extremely rate around here. Your photo is superb -- you've captured the color and texture perfectly.
I didn't know there are red trilliums. White trillium is a symbol of Ontario and it would be blooming right now in a little wood by the place where I lived in Oakville.
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Gorgeous color and nice shot!
A pretty flower, beautifully described by your photo. So rainy here this weekend that the camera's remained grounded!
Oh that is beautiful. Don't see the red out here too much. A treasure. MB
I love that deep red. :)
Vilken underbar Trillium. Växer det ute i naturen? Ha de gott i helgen.
Nice picture and nice colour.
We have white trillium, but I haven't seen any so far. I think they are especially beautiful. The red would be a wonderful sight, I am sure!
I didn't realize that they were out already! Lovely.
This would put a trill into your song on any given day. Beautiful!
BTW, I can't get Another Slice of Life to come up...says page not found. Sounds like Blogger is up to its old tricks!
