Brilliant yellow this time of year, male American goldfinches are hard to miss, especially since they tend to travel in flocks.

This week they were active and everywhere...or so it seemed - weedy fields, backyards, roadsides and even our mulberry tree. They definitely sought out each other's company.

When I used to see a parrot in a pet shop I start thinking that it would be nice to have birds with exotic colours like that in Canada. Your photo reminds me that we do have them. Lots of them. Nice nature shot Camera Girl.

I love their sweet songs..I have a ball of downy material to put out when it gets closer to their nesting time as I think thistle is hard to find around here..Love the collages as always EG....the hot weather is going to return, but it has been really nice the last few days..Michelle
