JOE-PYE weed (Eupatorium) in bloom
It's late JULY and local wetlands are beginning to turn a dusky pink where stands of JOE-PYE weed bloom attracting butterflies and other insects.

What a lovely colour. It's not fair that this plant is a weed :-).
Such a pretty "weed"!
Mother Natures beautiful wild garden.
Your weeds are prettier than ours!
an athletic bee hanging upside down
It's quite a pretty weed!
Quite pretty!
A fine wild flowers shot. They are a wonderful color and make an excellent subject for these shots.
that's a pretty one i've never heard of.
Your summer flowers make me happy!
Thanks for your comment! I am back from Australia.after a delay of 26 hours due to a typhoon in Hong Kong. We spent one night sleeping on the floor of the waiting area of the airport and one day talking to fellow passengers. Now I am going to have my mail sorted out.
That's a very pretty weed.
Lovely plant, and a new one to me, thanks,
What a beautiful flower and one I have never seen before.
I don't know if I have ever noticed it before. Lovely.
That is the prettiest weed I've ever seen! As pretty as any flower - if only this weed would grow here instead of the usual weedy weeds :)
I don't think I've ever seen this before! Nice photos and beautiful "weeds!"
I LOVE Joe-Pye weed! It grows a lot in Alabama where I was born. I was sad to learn it wasn't a native flower, because I always thought I might have a native plant garden, and I wanted Joe Pye and mullein in my garden! :-) They are both beautiful!
I wonder who Joe Pye was? And did he heat a lot of pie?
Quite pretty for a weed. ;)
Such pretty weeds!
This is such a lovely shade of purple.
Doesn't look like a weed to me. So very pretty!
I've never seen this weed before... but it's such beautiful flowers, or weed?

Such beautiful weed flowers, and the color is so pretty!
Not that is a pretty weed! It is a very pretty color.
Those are pretty. Who says all weeds are evil?! :)
hard to believe something so pretty is a weed! great shots.
That's a lovely plant.
I have never seen that name before and the photos look like lots of nameless weeds around here. It is a mystery . . .
Those are beautiful blossoms.
Gorgeous....love that color. The name is quite odd, isn't it? The plant is prettier than the name I think:)
Beautiful! Seeing an entire field of those must be amazing. Do they have a pretty smell too?
Beautiful images!
what a pretty colour! Good that the insects like it too!
I think that is awfully pretty for a weed. I can hardly wait to see all the beautiful butterfly pictures you get from there. :-)
proof positive that a weed is just as beautiful as a flower. a weed just makes the mistake of growing somewhere it wasn't wanted. but, the butterflies and bees seem to be quite happy with the location!
That is certainly one beautiful weed!
Ah, Beautiful photos...love how you caught the bee enjoying her weed! :) I say that's a FLOWER ! :) So pretty....
So stunningly beautiful I'll take lots of it and spread it all around!
Lovely...
I think I have this growing in the corner of my property....never knew what it was♫♪ Thanks!
I like very much and again must reiterate that what determines a "weed" is in the eye of the beholder. I shall determine for mineself what is or is not a weed! And this is not a weed. It's a dusky-pink Canadian flower!
So stunning for a weed! The color is so bright! Love the share. Enjoy your weekend!
I have a big clump of Joe Pye Weed that I planted before we had a deer fence. It's one pink flower that the deer don't eat. I like that it blooms right at this time, when other perennials are past their best.
July is full of beauty, every where you look...
Even in the weeds...
Great job!
