O is for OLD
Elora is an old town on the Grand River, rich in history, abandoned buildings and photo ops. Click HERE to check out an earlier post on the Elora Mill.
This is one of the abandoned buildings on the southerly side of the river.

As you can see in the above photo, the old buildings on the other side of the river are in considerably better shape.
Old buildings, young shoppers
In fact many are tourist attractions.

Even the buildings that are only partially there have been dressed up with flowers.

...is a courtyard surrounded by shops selling touristy items.

Well, that's a fascinating place. I like the sky coming in through those windows. It seems to always matter from which side of the tracks (river) from which you come. Or something like that.
Oh I love these shots and I must say I love Elora I have only been once but look forward to getting back now that my daughter lives close.

It's amazing that something old can still remain beautiful, despite being abandoned (can't really say the same for those post-WWII, brutalist concrete structures!)...I'm sure they will remain so for a long time...
it is a lovely place. I know a few people who have owned some of these shops and it certainly is a popular place.

I've been to Elora. Can't remember when. My daughter went to Waterloo and I'm sure we trooped around!

Elora looks beautiful--thank you for sharing. The photo of the young shoppers made me smile--long sleeved hoodies with short-shorts and flipflops. If it's cool enough to wear a hoodie, I'd think it would be too cold for bare legs too--but that's just me!
Of course, all your photos are excellent, but I love the one with the window box best of all.
