Barge view #1
I know you are wondering - so I am going to tell you (tee hee) - why the heck I was out making photos on a foggy morning. I was there because a couple of days earlier I had seen a rare (to this area) red-throated loon and I wanted to make a better photo.
Barge view #2
Yeah, well I never got the better photo because just as the loon swam up close to where I was quietly hiding, this barge came up the harbour. The loon took off. (True story.)
I bet you're thinking: "Better luck next time." Well, there WILL be a next time. (I hope.)

I will admit, I had never heard of a red-breasted loon, so have looked it up and see it is a rather undistinguished looking loon. You must have a very good eye!
Oh I can't wait for that Red breasted loon but I surely do like these shots of the barge. B
Great shots, but I am sorry your missed the loon shot. Better luck next time!
to tell the truth, i rather see the lovely old barge than the bird, so thanks, and of course there will be a next time. because you can!!!
The barge is interesting, can't wait to see the loon though.

I've been there, done that so many times. Just when you get ready to take a photo, off it flys. Grrr. Anyway I like the barge shot. Good luck finding the loon. I've never seen one.
Sorry you missed the loon, but I love the foggy morning pictures.
guess that's why they call it a 'barge' - no manners.
I can never get enough of old vintage looking equipment. Matter of fact last week I posted on the same subject "Red Vintage"... I am your newest follower. Will you come join me too?

Never heard of a red breasted loon.
Looking forward to seeing the loon one day!
Oh, well, the barge makes an interesting photo with its reflections on the water. I'd like to see the loon, though. Hope you make the capture soon.
I love the foggy photos, even if you missed the loon this time - look forward to the next time!
Red-throated Loons are a fantastic bird and I don't blame you for wanting to get closer. We see a very few here in summer and I have a picture of one I took, hanging on my wall with some of my other favourite shots.
Sorry we missed out on the loon, but your two barge photos are wonderful...full of personality. Love the squiggly shadows on the water. genie
Like the ripples effect here.
Oh what a shame, not quite the same capture as the loon was it, still good photos though. :)
Something is always disrupting our plan, isn't it! I hope you will get another chance soon.
Gorgeous barge to see though!
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get your better picture of the loon, but you did get a couple of neat pictures of the barge.
Love those loons
Ugh, talk about barging in!
Lovely shots, what a great name for a bird.
Oh, Ugh!! Barging in indeed!! I do hope you get a chance at another shot! I'd love to see that fellow!! Have a great week, EG!
You got some good shots of the barge. Hopefully next time it won't barge into your loon shots.
It is like that sometimes, you get something special to photograph other than the originally intended subject. I like the barge shots. I didn't think barges look like this.
It looks pretty chilly out on that lake!
Great barge photos, pity about the loon.
Hope you catch your loon next time!
;)
Wonderful photos ... reflections in the water are beautiful. I love it. Greetings.
Great shots that you got ~ despite missing the one you wanted ~ (A Creative Harbor) ^_^
Great impressions of your world.
Please have a good Tuesday.

Pictures of loons can make one loony! And I thought this barge was going to run right into that wall in the first shot! Sheesh!
Never mind, you got something very colorful too, and the photo of the water is so dramatic as well.

So, my friend EG gets up early for red-throated loons. Another thing we don't have in common!
Well, I would be excited to see a barge!
Because I'm going backwards, I see you've already seen your loon again! I applaud you for going back out to see it! Perseverance is required with wildlife!
