Bond Head, Ontario - Looking easterly
Friday's weather was a mixture of blue skies, snow squalls and blustery winds, but it was the only day in quite a few that Environment Canada had forecasted any sunshine. So my husband and I set out on a road trip. He was looking for interesting birds. I was looking for photogenic scenery as well as birds.
Looking in the opposite direction, the sky didn't look as promising. Wilmot Creek was flowing, but the areas around the picnic table and yacht club appeared deserted. Well, not completely deserted as there were a few common goldeneyes swimming in the creek.
Ice-covered twigs at the water's edge
Empty pier, overcast sky
It was cold...but the pier tempted me. I just had to see if I could move in closer to the multitude of ducks swimming on the leeward side of the wind.
And below me on the rocks - another crazy photographer!
FYI: We all had a successful day: common scaups, goldeneyes, longtails, and redheads. Tune in tomorrow to see for yourself.

Your "photographing the frigid" idea is catching on! Great pictures of a cold-day trip.
Particularly fond of the empty pier. It feels like it should be the start, or maybe the ending, of a book of some sort.
