D/Alphabe-Thursday

 Dilapidated house, Shelburne, Ontario

D is for DILAPIDATED, DECAYED, DETERIORATED

Some of you may remember this old house from when I posted about it HERE. This is what it looks like now.

Almost DOWN, almost DONE

DANGEROUS, eh?

I am linking to Jenny Matlock at Alphabe-Thursday HERE

Dilapidated is about the nicest thing you can say for this place; well, other than it makes for a great photo opportunity! I don't think it has long for this world! :)

Oh, my. Makes you think it will be gone if you blink your eyes.

Smutno patrzeć na zniszczony dom, ale zdjecia wspaniałe. Pozdrawiam.

Great find! I love photographing abandon places.

just like our human bodies, it is just sitting there and getting older and older until it is collapsing in on itself. i did go look at the other post, and there is a big change since then... sad but beautiful photos of it.

A sad house indeed. Would be interesting if anyone is inspired to do a painting of it before it completely falls apart, still has a lot of character. Great capture!

Wow, it looks like the long winter was too much for it.
Sad when you think about it. Once it held a family and the laughter of children echoed off its walls. Now it sits broken and forgotten.

Oh so sad! You got some great shots of it.

Oh no, I do remember it from a while back EG, it did look as if it was going to cave in any minute..what was the time span between each set of photos?

It seems once they begin to degrade, it really accelerates. I hate to say it, but it would be safer if it fell down.

What a nice find. Darn near looks like a tree fell right across the center. I've seen a lot of dilapidated houses but never one folding in upon itself as this one is.

Great photos of this dying structure. I wonder who lived there and when, and why the place was abandoned.

Poor, sad thing. Somebody once loved it enough to build and live in it.

I think I recognize this! Roof just fell in the past year or so I think. Up here it's barns that collapse or get torn down. I really have to start documenting some of them before they disappear.

Looks like it finally caved in, the original shot reminds me of a Haunted House fairground attraction!

Eek. I bet it's got some great wood that could be salvaged and reclaimed!

A great photo...would make a great book cover for a story about neglect. I would have to get in there and see what could be salvaged and repurposed. I'm that kind of girl!
