Hairy Beardtongue

 Hairy beardtongue (Pentstemon hirsutus) 

Hummingbirds love these wildflowers and I do too. If you look closely at this plant's stem. you can see why it's called "hairy."

A lovely clumping flower

What a pleasure to find a field of these!

They are beautiful we seem to have an enormous amount of them growing on the farm this year. The Goldfinch love them too. B

We have lots of hummingbirds this year. I am realizing that they are kind of territorial. They get kinda mad at me when I interfere with their flowers!

I have seen something similar growing wild. I'm not quite sure if it is the same flower or not. Either way you have photographed it beautifully. I love the coloring.
