House Wren/Birding

 House wren (Troglodytes aedon)

Could this guy ever sing!  For sure it was hard to believe such a small bird was making all that noise!

Still singing

Lesson learnt: never judge people by size.

Must be a wren-volution! They've been kicking up a fuss where I live too.

Funny you should be posting about the House Wren, when I have heard him singing outside my bedroom window since about 4 in the morning. I do appreciate his song, but 4am is a little early.

I've built several new birdhouses this year and we are flooded with singing, so I can relate :-)

Great photos- looks like he is really belting one out.

They do sing loudly. Sometimes I can't hear the birds in our bushes but they put forth a cacophony of sound!

Lowell said...

Oops, I meant to say I can't "see" the birds in the bushes!

So cute. I can almost hear it. :)

Not sure if it can sing melodiously, but it can chatter all day long. Nice clicks!

It is a gift to hear birds sing.

I wonder how many different kinds of birds you have posted so far on this blog. It is amazing to me. If it isn't a robin or duck up north or a heron down south, I don't know what it is.

We have two wren families, one chickadee and one robin's nest in our little yard. It is quite fun, and noisy.

He certainly is singing his little heart out. Maybe he's hoping to attract a lady friend.

Dynamite comes in small packages hey EG, what a wee beauty it is. I went into a pet shop the other day to get some seed for my wild birds, I usually I get it from another source, it upset me so much to see all the small birds in cages, I had to get out of there so quickly. It just seemed so sad.
