Ontario wild flowers, early July
Humid! Central Ontario is between Lake Ontario and Lake Huron. Most of our weather systems cross either of these two LARGE lakes picking up water as they come.
Largest square: viceroy butterfly on flowering dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum ).
Moving clockwise: Viper's bugloss (Echium vulgare), common milkweed (Ascelepias syriaca), closeup of ant on common milkweed, heal-all (Prunella vulgaris) and black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta).
* Please note that I include botanical names because common names differ from area to area.

Love how you have arranged the floral colours in the mosaic! One seems to highlight the other! And the butterfly is stunning!
I like everything but the name Viper's bluegloss is so interesting. I just wonder how it came about.
