End of August
The nights are definitely cooler now so the mornings start off chilly.
Largest square: upside-down bee on butterfly bush (Buddleia). This weekend the Buddleia attracted a hummingbird, many bees of various types, several cabbage butterflies, a fritillary, and two hummingbird moths. Quite the menagerie! But no monarchs, which is very unusual for this bush.
Moving clockwise: berries of bittersweet nightshade (Solanum dulcamara), Queen Anne's lace (I'm amazed that some of these lacy flowers are still blooming), thistle gone to seed, high bush cranberries turning red and a cabbage butterfly on spotted knapweed (Centaurea maculosa) - a pretty but invasive plant.

Gorgeous end of summer collage!
Definitely many subtle changes going on right now, before the big changes of fall set in soon!
With all the ripe berries, we see birds moving in quickly to clear them out.
Everyone is stocking up!
Beautiful colours!
Of course, my favorite is the invasive knapweed. I love the weather at this time of year.
Beautiful nature shots. I love seeing berries this time of the year. The upside down bumblebee is great.
Summer is indeed winding down. Great bee shot and I always enjoy seeing Queen Anne's lace - rarely seen here but remembered from childhood.

LOVE the BEE!! So clear and crisp!
Such a pretty collection. We still have some queen anne's lace, but most of it is done for the season.
Lovely berries and flowers.A very colorful mosaic! Great shots!
I need to get out to see what all has changed here...I think Lorelei is coming so we might have to get out and explore. (If it is not too terrible hot.)
I love all the colors, and that bee shot is wonderful!
Oh your nature's little ones are still feasting, and in the midst of activity. I didn't know that individual flowers of Buddleia looks like that of Lantana. Hmmm, that's why butterflies love our lantana too.
