Drum Circle

Opening ceremonies, Weaving Words Festival, Sharon

Yesterday I attended Weaving Words, a storytelling festival held at the Sharon National Historic Site and Museum. This year the event opened with a drum circle, which I really enjoyed.

 Georgina Drum Circle

Can you hear the drums? I can can still hear the rhythm and my feet are still tapping.

 Audience participation

Georgina Drum Circle brought along some extra drums, which they allowed members of the audience to play.

Many in the audience joined in the fun

If I was that little girl's parent, I'd want a copy of that photo to hang on my wall. Wonderful!

What a nice setting and seating for autumn! The steady beat of the drums seems like a great way to clear the mind to begin the word weaving that must have ensued.

I can hear them from here!

PS: Just wanted to say that I have always enjoyed your blog. You gave me lots of ideas of things to see and do when I was a wee newcomer to Canada. :)
Hope you'll take a look when I'm in Berlin.

A very colourful series of photos on a lovely fall afternoon. I thought the little girl was a statue at first as her face is so smooth and serene.

Drumming seems to be quite popular these days.

I can imagine some foot tapping was inevitable. If they sound as good as they look you must have had a great day out.

Bab-a-ba-rum bum bum bum bum! Never heard of a drum circle, although I've been drummed out of a few circles - usually the more elite one!

Methinks everyone had a good time but now my feets are bouncing too! :)

I've been to one drum circle and they also had a lot of percussion instruments including drums and such that they encouraged the audience, especially children to use and join in. Great experience.
