Blowing in the Wind

Onion skin
Five random thoughts:

1. On a back road in the Holland Marsh (an area north of Toronto where vegetables  are grown on large farms), a truck whizzed past with something blowing out the open back - light like confetti but much larger. Onion skins. And a photo op!

2. Coffee: the first cup every morning is heavenly. The second cup, not so much. After that, it's time to switch to tea - green or herbal.

3. Memories: When I was a kid, the noise of a snowplow before dawn was the sound of hope. Paired with the local fire hall's blowing horn at 7a.m., it meant NO SCHOOL! I still like being awakened by a snowplow.

4. For me, winter mornings (when it's still dark outside) are best started with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, a good book, and a cozy blanket.

5. Winter sunrises can sometimes be the only colour I see on a winter day.

I agree with you on 2 cups of coffee. I went for the 2nd cup today and couldn't finish it. Hope you were able to see some light today!

Sounds like me (except for the onion truck), esp. Those morning coffees and some quiet reading time.

The first cup is the best, and I drink it all day long.

Love the macro shot!

Nice random 5--I like one cup of coffee in the morn. No more. Sometimes I have one during the day, but very seldom.

It was always so exciting to get out of school! And I enjoyed it just as much when the girls were in school!

I had not thought but the sky is about the only color we have in winter.

I like #4 too.

The gold against the snow is lovely. What an usual image, too! I must say I savor the first cup of coffee -- and the second just as much!

A fun five to read. My book reading is in the afternoon. I cannot imagine starting the day with my book. Just can't. Yep, coffee in the morning, tea the rest of the day.

I'm right there with you in front of the fire on this snowy morning for sure. Haven't had a cuppa joe in a while, but I can just smell it brewing...so today, coffee it is! Thanks for this. Prompted a great "me" time moment! Aloha

Onion skin? I wouldn't have known as it looked like an old leaf. Very interesting.

Here's random thought to go with your very interesting random thoughts: Remember when we used to use onion skin paper for writing special essays, etc. It didn't erase very well, though.

Snowy, cold mornings are OK if you can keep warm and don't have to go outside.

It's not snowy here, just cold! Ugh!

Your random thoughts had me shaking my head in agreement - well, except about the coffee. I am still an avid fan, but I've switched to tea in the AM. I'm mostly off caffeine and am sleeping better than I have in years. Your onion skin is a gem.

Oh well, of course, you would see onion skins flying lol! Brilliant!

Excellent random thought. I'll fore-go the coffee but how about a hot cup of cocoa, a good book and a cozy blanket. YES!!
Interesting onion sin.

Great photo of the onion skin blowing in the wind! I agree about the first cup of coffee, but second and third taste great to me too.

This was interesting! I especially enjoyed your photo, and it's not really something one takes a photo of either!

The wayward onion skin produced a great macro shot, I love it. Two cups of coffee are about my limit before changing to something else.

I remember watching tv or listening to the radio to hear whether school was opened or not. Then after my dad started working for the school district he'd get a call.

I was wondering how you found an onion skin out in the snow. I don't think school was ever closed here because of the weather, but we sometimes had to get up very early to clear the road of snow to be able to go to school or work. The farmer who normally plowed the road never got up early enough.

Incredible macro image! Who would have thought...onion skins in the snow! I'm so glad you visited my blog, because now I've found yours and it's a wonderful place to visit! I love, love, love all your snow pictures!!

Enjoyed learning a little more about you, and I especially relate to #4, except I like peppermint tea instead of coffee.

It isn't every day one finds a photo op with an onion skin on the snow… at least not around here. Great discovery! Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
