At the top of an older Newmarket home
Yesterday while my husband was taking a nap, I took a walk from the hospital to Main Street, Newmarket to see what I could find to photograph.
Looking over a fence to see a fence (Did you get that?)
I am linking to Good Fences HERE.

I agree. I would call it a widow's walk... that's assuming you can see the ocean from there !
Dearest EG CameraGirl;
Wow, lovely house with lovely 2 fences♡♡♡ I like the way you expressed the fantastic house "Looking over a fence to see a fence"♪
Sending you Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
What a charming home, is it near the water perchance?
The one on the roof is work of a craftsman.
I'm feeling a little fenced in. ;-)
That is an interesting design for a roof segment. I love your fence within a fence concept.
Oh I LOVE that little fence thingy (technical term:)) I am sending you hugs for the husband thingy (technical term:) take care and keep smiling and snapping.xo Hug B
Love that house! and both fences!
Those are awesome crafted fences and the house is beautiful! I was thinking widow's walk too atop the house! Now that is a unique fence for Good Fences! Cool!
You managed to double up on the fences, clever you. The house is really interesting.

What a cool photo! Wonder if anyone uses the top of the roof or if its just for decoration. Either way it's a beaut shot :D)
That is quite a house! And 'tis well-fenced. I would love to explore this place; I'll bet there are a bunch of nooks and crannies full of interesting things!
Best wishes to you and your husband!

Ha ha, I got that one. Neat.
There was a widow's walk on the old farmhouse we moved from some years ago -- I find that structure fascinating. Great image. xo

the widow's walk is really neat! i like the whole place - front fence, too. :)
thanks for linking in camera girl! :)
That's a cool old house. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
The fences are great but what's even better is that you were able to get out and see a few things and have some fresh air.
Now this is quite clever!
How cool is that? Great take on Good Fences.
Two for one! Love the widow's walk.
It must be a royal home...it has a crown on top!

i always want to see what's inside a victorian house. my curiousity gets stronger every day it seems.
Nicely seen and captured, and what a beautiful old house this is!
Great old house, EG! It's funny how blogging can be an escape for a bit when things are stressful but it does make you head out for a walk when you can and just occupy your mind a little. Hope the patient gets out of there soon.
Ein schönes Haus. Wohnst du hier?

Reminds me a little of that neighbor in Mary Poppins who thought he lived on a ship and put off a cannon every night!
Lol of course... ;) playing words... but I can really see the fence below... and the fence on the roof... love it! Thanks for sharing! all the best, too!
Amazing architecture!
I hope all is well with your husband.
I've seen those before but wasn't aware they were called a widow's walk. Great photograph. Loved visiting you on this Good Fences Thursday.

Reminds me of my mother's apartment building.Gives a lot of charm to the structure.
It's a beautiful home.
I suppose the top level is only for decoration.

I got it, but I don't get it! I guess it's purely ornamental, right?
