Real Fake Flowers

Planter outside a local nursery #1 last Friday

Blooms are so scarce here right now and I am so desperate for colour that I have taken to photographing faux flowers.

 Planter  #2

Well, they are cheerful, aren't they?

And the twigs are real.

I hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend!

lovely bright colors and my mother would not only have loved these she would have wanted them

I recently read an article that praised fake flowers, indicating that they are far superior to those of the past and are no longer considered tacky. Nothing tacky about these flowers!

Indomitable Canadians - We will have our spring colour no matter what nature throws at us! Very cheery.

Sooner or later the real flowers will show themselves!

Your real fake flowers are much prettier than the ones in the garden next door. The lady who lives there has fake flowers stuck into the ground year round. Needless to say, the flowers fade and look pretty strange blooming above the snow in the winter. It is really unusual considering how lovely the building is, but, then, to each his/her own!

i love that even the nursery uses fakes. :)

Good for you! It's pretty bleak and watery around here, too.

Well you are right--they are cheerful enough. But wait----it will happen.
It is 32F here right now but is supposed to warm up to about 69F I'll take it. The sun just came over the hill

Wonderfully colorful even if the flowers are not real

Those are pretty nice ones. I can remember when fake flowers were made of plastic and they were not pretty like these are.

I really dislike fake flowers outdoors, but I SOOOO understand the need to color in a drab world! May you have real flowers soon! Yes, they are cheerful. We have to get our cheer where we can! :-)

Sometimes you have to touch them to be sure or I do anyway.

If you hadn't said they were feaux, I would have thought they were real. We're kind of in a bind for the real thing, too. Although I did see some daffodils in the neighbors yard.

I'm craving colour too so this look great to me, EG!

They are cheerful and those twigs might just start to sprout leaves if there is wet soil in the planters. :)

They are beautiful and would have fooled me.

You're funny!

They are colorful, that's for sure. You will be swimming in the real things soon enough. I hope!

If you promise not to tell anyone . . . I have quite a few silk plants in both Florida and Connecticut. Given that I am not in either place year-round, live plants would die. So, I have got very lifelike plants, to make the place more comfortable. These days, you can get very lifelike plants. Of course, I do buy seasonal plants like poinsettia and tulips and now Easter lilies, and I regularly buy cut flowers.

They may be fake but they sure look pretty good to me.

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Even though the flowers are fake they are bright and pretty.

Nice bright colors and they do look almost real.

They are pretty. Maybe I'll have to plant some of them if we don't get warm weather soon.

Fake or not, they certainly brighten things up!

They are pretty!

I know how you feel about seeing colors. I did the same thing with faux flowers!

For some reason the first one would have fooled me but not the others, maybe the color? I can see why people put them out in need for a bit of bright color.
