Building the new Mount Albert (East Gwillimbury) Fire Station
December 1st is City Daily Photo Theme Day and the theme this month is People in Their Workplace.
Some of you may remember that last February one of East Gwillimbury's fire stations burned to the ground. I told you about it HERE. Since then, the village of Mount Albert's fire engines (and whatever else firefighters need) have been temporarily housed in another corner of the village.
A couple of months ago work began on the new fire station in the same place as the original one: a foundation, cement block walls, a roof.... Last Friday crews were facing the outside cement-block walls with plywood.

hooray for new building!
That's good to see that they have started on the new one, EG!
glad they are this far along, it is really going to be a nice looking firehouse..i went to the link and don't remember seeing those photos but i know i did because i commented. my senior memories are all burning like a house afire
I think I'd build the whole firehouse out of stone--inside and out. :-)
It looks like the final structure will be well worthwhile.
Hi Tina,
The color is perfect - Fire Engine red.
Congrats on the new Fire Station!
Peace :)
Glad to see it is being rebuilt!
Great pictures of the construction! Do they know how long it will take before the grand opening? Our heroes deserve only the BEST!
Ah, what a relief to see it being rebuilt!! Terrific captures of the construction indeed!! Have to admit, I'm in favor of all stone buildings, too!!
Good to see the building being reconstructed.
Always good to see firefighters and their stations going up!

Looks like a cold season for outside construction work!
Perfect for the theme.
Great news on the new building.
That is a pretty quick rebuild schedule. A town needs a fire station!!
Every town needs one. Hope it comes up as per schedule.
How exciting for this construction project.
what a nice looking fire station it will be :)
Looks like it is proceeding well
Hope it's completed soon for them and is fireproof!
Thank you for stopping by and saying hi :)
This is going to be a great and impressive fire station!
Hopefully, more fire-retardant materials have been used in the rebuild. Terrific story for the theme.
The crew looks busy, the building is coming along fast.

Good that they are rebuilding it, and you also got some fine pictures of people at work!
I've gone for fireman too as part of the theme. Seems a popular choice. It's good to photograph our places, we keep a living document of every day life.
Those workers have some cold work ahead to get the building done by spring!
I'm glad to see a new station is being built but, boy I wouldn't want to do that work in the cold air.
It's good to see it rebuilt! Fire is frightening...
Important worker!
