EG, I like this barn scene..We see a lot of similar crumbling barns here too. Have a happy day and week ahead! I wish you and your family a happy, healthy New Year!
What is it about pictures of ruined structures I like so much? This is great with the contrast of the snow against the colors of the building and field.
That old barn may not serve as a home for the horses and cows anymore, but it does indeed make for a great shot for the day!! You are SO good at finding those great shots and I'm so glad you share them with us! Hope you have a great new week!!
What a shame. We have them here too. I asked Phil about them, and he said that people only have enough money to fix up their houses. Farmers are usually poor.
They are so fascinating and eerily beautiful. But I always want more of the backstory. My husband just says "corporate farms .. No more little guys". So sad.
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

it does make a great shot with the snow even though it is falling down.

A really awesome and rugged setting. I'm sad that the barn is in such a shape, but with the snow it makes a great photo.

This makes the imagination run wild!...:)JP
Hopefully it's just the buildings crumbling and not the farms.
Very nice shot, but poor old barn! There are plenty of barns and even some houses in similar condition around here.
I love decay shots. No way I can take them with snow here... :-)
Oh yes lots of crumbling barns along the 407 sad indeed. Great shot. Hug B
Great photo but sad to see these places going down and in the future, 'growing up' into housing or commercial space. I guess life goes on eh?

it is still beautiful in some ways and what a shame it is falling down.
A variation on 'That's the way the cookie crumbles.'
This one has seen better days.
All that snow on the roof won't help either!
I feel so sad seeing them like this. Poignant, I suppose.
Why so many of these? Have the people sold out for residential subdivisions? It's kinda sad.
I imagine the weight of snow over time increased damage to the barn. Even dilapidated and somewhat of a danger zone, the structure has charm.
The snow will make it fall down. Fabulous photo EG.
It looks like it may still be serving its owner - even in this state of disrepair. Beautiful photo.
Love those old barns, and that one is very nice.
The snow makes this old barn even more scenic.
Wonderful photo

Lots of those around here too. I hate seeing them but they do make great photos!
Poor barn - but it's a beauty!
poor old thing!
I'll bet it was impressive in its day. Still is in its own way.
These crumbling barns still hold a lot of beauty in their decline, and with the snow this is a very pretty picture.
It's sad to see!
There's a certain beauty to these crumbling barns!
I can still hear my grandmother commenting on how that barn is coming from together!!!

Great photo of the crumbling barn. It is huge and must have been important for shelter when it was built.
So lovely even in decline....

Made for a great shot though!!
It's sad they are falling down but they have such character. It's the same here, and I often wish they could talk.
It is a lovely barn shot!
the scene is beautiful although i feel sad when i see crumbling structures. happy new year.
