Christmas in March (photo taken last Saturday, March 21st)
Someone asked me yesterday if the house shown here still had Christmas decorations up. Yep! Not sure why!
This is a different house, down the same street. The driveway is ploughed, the walk is shovelled...but the decorations are still up at this house too. Perhaps the owners are waiting for warmer weather to put it all away. Or could they be in Florida and hiring someone to clear the walk and driveway? Or maybe they leave the decorations up all year long? What do you think?

we have one house down the block that leaves there lights up year round and even burn them at night. we see them each morning coming and going to the YMCA..
A good question ... My guess is they are snowbirds and will take down the decorations when they return. I like these houses and this neighborhood.
I think I'll ignore the decorations and say it's a very nice house! That carport is very interesting. You don't see many of those.
I would be checking on them!
Gotta be snowbirds! Can't imagine walking by these every day without knowing the season is over. Or, perhaps, they are classic procrastinators?! I agree that it is a charming house, tho.
At least the snow adds to the festive feel, I suppose ;-)
Suspect their storage space is full so they don't know where to put the decorations if they take them down. That is a beautiful house.

Personally, the red bows are way too silly to still be out. But gee whiz we have a neighbor up the street that still has his red bows out in full bloom! Yikes, but really he does. He has put away all his other festive Christmas decorations, snowmen and deer that light up, (actually he just recently put them away)but they're still there and go to work everyday!
Interesting! On trip to California a few years ago, I remember seeing a Christmas tree in the center of a huge window that faced the ocean.....in August.
Yep, Snowbirds indeed, but a lovely home in spite of the outdated decorations!!
Perhaps they will take them down in time for Easter.

I guess I am not as patient as the other commenters - lazy lazy lazy. If someone can plow and shovel the walks someone can get their lazy selves out there and pick up the decorations, for goodness sake - it is the end of March.
It's a beautiful house but it's definitely time for those Christmas decorations to be put away!

Perhaps they may be struggling with depression or know someone who is. There are a couple of homes here in Montreal that still have theirs up. I know that many people get depressed after the holidays and it can last for months. It is lovely.
Is there ever a car in the driveway? I think they are gone and someone is shoveling for them. I love the carport and the upper and lower porches!!! This is an awesome house!
The house looks good,but those decorations need to go. Christmas is over.
I' d say decoration must stay here all year long . So much work to set it !
My mom just took her decorations down earlier this month. She's never done that before, but she said she was just enjoying them so much she gave herself permission to wait.
I told her at 87 going on 88 (in April) years old, I guess she can do what she pleases!

I don't know what to think. But hopefully they will be gone by summer!
I've noticed that some people leave theirs up year 'round. I suppose it's much less work not having to take them up and down, but I would think the light bulbs would burn out much more quickly being out in all sorts of weather through the year.

I just hope no one is sick--and that maybe they have went to warmer climates.
I can explain, as it's my house! Unfortunately with the cold weather this year they were frozen into the ground right up until just after you took your picture. They have been down for a few weeks now. We usually try to get them down just after Christmas, but there was no mid winter thaw this year to make that possible.

Thank you for your response. It's great to know why your decorations were still up in March. It certainly was a hard winter here in Ontario and yours were certainly not the only ones we saw! AND yours were some of the nicest. :)
I'm sorry if I have offended you. I hope you can admit it made an interesting photo, though. Please believe I meant you no harm.

Thanks for your reply. I know you meant no harm by your post, but the comments that were posted as a result of it did hurt. As you said, ours were not the only ones up. In fact, many houses on our street still had their lights up, dead greenery out and lawn ornaments frozen into the ground. So I'm not really sure what made ours so "interesting".
In the future, you might want to consider that if you are posting pictures of someone's personal property that could result in unfair or unkind comments, then maybe those pictures should not be posted. You never know who is reading your blog.
