Very similar to the swamp and marsh iris that grow in the Southern U.S. Our are called Louisiana Iris but they're quite similar to this. Do the ones you have pictured get very, very tall? The ones here do. They will also grow in standing water and many people have them in garden ponds. I love all varieties of iris and will be sad to leave my mother's here when I leave.
Gorgeous iris! They always make me think of my grandfather - he would bring cuttings of his iris from New Mexico to my parents' house here in California and plant them. Some of them are still growing in my mom's garden.
It is so beautiful....if I were to tell you when I visited my daughter in California that we were at a place that these were taller than me, would you believe me? And maybe they grow that tall where you are...I don't know why I didn't have them take a picture.
I have been looking and looking on line trying to find a picture of the irises/flags at the El Dorado Park in Long Beach, CA...not having any luck. Found one that has them to the side, but doesn't show anything to compare them to.
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Such a delicate and lovely flower, and you have captured it beautifully.
They are out in all splendor here today too. Long live PURPLE and blue. Really like yesterday's dizzy window reflection.
They are beautiful flowers.
Oh yeah! As you know, I'm ALL about irises. :-)
What a great shot. The flower looks so stately and beautiful.

Pretty. I tried one the other day, but it wasn't sharp. Maybe I'll try again.
