A Wilson's Snipe on cedar rail fencing
There was a fence between me and the corral so I was not able to get in any closer to the Wilson's Snipe or to the lichen on the fence. Sometimes I wish I were invisible so I could sneak in.

That fence has the look of age.
that is a wonderful weathered fence and it was great that the snipe posed on it for you
Bird in disguise.
Cool capture of the Snipe on the fence. Perfect shot for your fence post. Have a happy day!
Love it! I can remember going "snipe hunting" has a scout. :-)
This is a real beauty!
And you catch the bird on you camera to. A lovely picture.
Have a nice day and take care!
Lindo! bjs, chica
You are such a good rule follower. I am also. I've had enough talks with landowners, security guards and others.
That fence looks like part of the earth now.
It's a good photo. Closer would be a different photo and likely no better -- just different.
Mother Nature does camouflage so well, the bird and the fence are exactly the same shades. Fab shot.
What a lovely shot! In matching colors...
Love this fence and the vintage look of it. The bird just blends right in. Great shot.
Have a nice day. cm
he is a perfect match to that rustic wood fence.. beautiful
Love it!
Have a great day!
That is a great fence, and a great shot.
Wow, lovely picture. It always impresses me how bird's feathers just blend so beautifully into their surroundings. Nature is amazing.
A fence AND a bird?? You are definitely an overachiever. LOL Beautiful shot!
that is lovely! great old fence and fence percher. :)
Lovely old fence!
The bird on top really makes this photo! Nice shot!
Wow … what a beak! That bird could poke some good holes into that fence. :)
Texas has fences kin to this one but that snipe is not a bird I believe we have anywhere in this area. What a long bill!
Perhaps if you gave that old fence a slight push it would disintegrate? So that's a snipe? As I recall, when I was young and even more naive than I am now, I was invited on a couple of "snipe" hunts which left me cold and alone in the Minnesota woods! :)
Thanks for your kind comment!
ooooo that is a work of art!!! and the perfect landing spot!!!
Love the fence! I've never seen one of these guys, EG!
A wonderful looking fence, EG!
A snipe on a fence. That's is not only a good bird but a great combo! Usually they are hiding in the grasses:) Excelente!
Love that old fence and the bird "matches" it perfectly!! Great way to hide out -- be the same color as your surroundings!! Terrific capture as always!! Love the detail!!
Pretty shot and a neat bird I don't get to see here.
Incredible shot of a very cool fence and the Snipe amazing. Hug B
An unlikely spot for the snipe, but he's well camouflaged. They are comical looking birds with their long bills and fat bodies.

Ok, I didn't see the bird at first, but this photo is really amazing!
That is a very interesting fence and bird. Nice tones.
Wow that Snipe sure is camouflaged on that fence. The textural look of this shot is fantastic. I really liked it.
Love your capture of this fence - yeah all the sacrifices we make for a good shot, eh?
That fence has so much character. I love it.
love that fence ... but the bird is what is super awesome!!!! ( :
Yes and naturally, you just happened upon the scene and you're even complaining that you weren't close enough... pffffft... :-)
This must be about as old as the barn in the previous post...does it even go with that barn or is it me making the jump? I think it is a fine shot.
A successful Snipe Hunt! I am deeply impressed. I wouldn't apologize for a second for not getting closer if I had taken that.
that bird is nearly invisible. Great shot.
Looks like it has a lot of history behind the aged wood.
Wonderful shot. I didn't even notice the bird at first sight.
He kind of blends in with the fence!
Lovely, EG. A fine composition.
I think that you got a great perspective.
I agree with Maggie: the bird looks almost camouflaged. And you may not have gotten in close but you did a great job with this shot.
Great picture!
What a cute little guy!
Great textures... and bird!
Wow, what a lovely moment! Great shot!
We have snipes here too but haven't hear about Wilson yet.
Thanks for this info :)
Have a nice weekend!
This is a wonderful photo!
Perfect!...:)JP
Cool fence---it's been around for a long time.
I like the Snipe too.

Great fence and the bird upon it.
Great shot of the fence and snipe! Wonderful!
I would say that is two birds in one stone. A great fence and also a gorgeous bird. :)
The bird has just so blended in with the fence. Awesome photo.
I love the texture of the old fence.
