More than one family
I admire Canada geese for the way they get together to protect their young. Turtles - yes, sweet, slow-moving turtles - are known for dragging goslings under to drown them.
Rounding the babies up
And some other critter has been capturing them and leaving the dead evidence along the pathway on the dike along with dead fish. I guess everyone has got to eat!
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

And amazingly, they learn not from school.
That reminds of a kindergarten on tour :-)
Swarms of them, lovely.
Great pictures!!
Observed the large goslings creche with adult Canada geese in lakes close by.
Have a nice weekend,

It is great they keep together for protection. The goslings are adorable. Great shots! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Didn't know about the turtles, but then that's Nature for you!
You are right about nature, but it never seems fair does it. That is the way things go though. Beautiful photographs! xx
Nature red in tooth and claw, eh?
Shifty turtles. :-)
I have never known about that until I saw a video on facebook the other day. It shocked me. We have geese on our pond, and I know we have snapping turtles also. Do the turtles eat the babies, or just kill them for sport. I guess I didn't think turtles were meat eaters. Now I've got to go on a google search. LOL!
Turtles? I had no idea.
so cute. i did not know they gather together to protect each other, like elephants do, the kids belong to everyone... i like that. so sorry they are part of the food chain
Nice photos!
Running offer, we have an extra 50,000 in Greensboro that we'd love to ship you! :)

Little goslings are so cute. We had 7 babies at the pond this year and Mom and dad brought back all the babies born over the years too--I think. they are gone now---thank goodness.
that's why i never hope for ducklings on our pond. we have a couple of snapping turtles again...
Ah yes, the bigger their family the happier they are!
I do love the ducklings!! I hope these survive the snapping turtles!! Beautiful captures as always! Hope your weekend is off to a great start!! Enjoy!!
That is quite the family gathering! The goslings are so sweet. Nature is cruel isn't it?
I hope that doesn't apply to the painted turtles, EG! I would be shocked.
Oh! I didn't know turtles eat goslings.
It is a great family pic.
babies, babies.....everywhere!! it's just that time of year!!!!
That's a lot of babies!
Cute little critters. Just like humans - some grow up to be loud and obnoxious!
Very cute shots!
Lovely shots, parents and their young eh!
A great series of captures - I especially like the shadows and geometric shapes in the third shot. Happy weekend to you!
So very cute!
The family of geese is so cute. Sad that even they have mortal enemies. But that's the way nature works.
The little ones are so sweet.I agree everyone has to eat but I still don't like to see these young ones killed.
They are very protective. I was hissed at by a pair just yesterday.
Yes, indeed. I have a picture of a mom and just one baby. I'm sure she hatched more than one egg!

Oh, these are so darling...
That is quite a crowd!
The goslings are adorable!
