Cactus blossom
Every year I'm pleasantly surprised when these blossoms open. But why? They've done it every year for at least eight or ten - ever since a friend gave me a cutting. This cactus is a native of the Canadian Prairies. - a climate that is often colder than Ontario where I live.
Perennial foxglove
Another much-appreciated garden bloomer!
An annual fringed poppy
Although this is an annual it comes back every year. It seeds prolifically, which is GREAT since I love them.

Maravilhosas! bjs,chica
The colors are fantastic, but I especially like the geometry in that last photo.
I winter we dream of it, in spring we wait for it - in summer we see it!
all of these gorgeous flowers are new to me and i have not seen them in real life..
Gorgeous blooms. I love the cactus bloom and the pretty poppy. Have a happy Sunday and new week ahead!
Great photos indeed.
I'm the same EG.. you just know they'll bloom but when they do, it's so good to see. Lovely series of floral images.
They're all beauties, EG!
awesome blooms!! i can't pick a fave ... they are ALL amazing. ( :
They are beautiful, even after the petals have fallen.
I didn't realize cactus grew in Canada. Are they the same varieties that we have in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California? And I've never seen a yellow foxglove before. Our local ones here (which are rare) are usually lavendar. I actually saw them as nursery plants last summer in blues and pinks, colors I'm more familiar with.
Your blooms are beautiful. I love flowers but not gardening so I guess you could say that I just want the baby and not the labor pains as we say in the oilfield.
wonderful shots of the beauties. :)
Beautiful captures, each and every one but the fringed poppy stole my heart!
Thanks for stopping by in Normandy earlier.
I love it when a cactus blooms. Your photos are lovely!!!

Beautiful blooms. I didn't know that cactus would grow in Ontario.
The best part of the year for flowers but it's too hot for me! The first one is such a beauty!
Oh, what beautiful flowers !!!
As always your photos are gorgeous !!
Greetings
Each flower has a special kind of beauty. I look forward to each flower that opens, even if it is not something new,the beauty is timeless.
Gorgeous pictures!
The cactus flower is so pretty with the orange color on the throat. It's surprising it grows in Canada. I was sent a bonus package of annual poppies but didn't get them sown, I wish I had looking at your lovely flower, so red and fringy.
They are all simply glorious! I love the bright colors, especially the yellow.
Beautiful flowers and colors.
Very beautiful collection, Tina!
The first one almost looks like a Hibiscus.
Have a Wonderful Week!
Peace :)
You do a fine job with flower close-ups, EG.
Nice collection of blooms!
Great shots! I'm especially taken by the cactus blossom. It's gorgeous! I had no idea there are native cactus in Canada.
It's nice to have a garden that takes care of itself! ;-)
all beautiful even the poppy head.
Wonderful array of colours!
Gorgeous flowers! I love the cactus blossom and the poppies.
Apparently, your garden is growing very well. Annuals that reseed and keep returning are a good thing in the right garden.
Wonderful macro-shots! The yellow on top is fantastic.
Stunning flowers! xx
Such beautiful flowers! Amazing shots!!
I love your subjects, the focus and the lighting. Great shots!
Don't you love it? I'm getting forgetful and find they are such a surprise. And I forget the new ones I've planted!!!! :-)
Beautiful blooms you got there. We also have some cactus but not many blooms in our hot weather, they really like it cool.
Very nice photos including the end stage of the poppy.
So vibrant Tina. I didn't know about a cactus that can grow in a colder area... I need to plant some poppies... Michelle
