Ha! Memories! I took this photo on a dirt road when our jalopy was broken down. It wouldn't go! Luckily we belong to CAA (the Canadian version of the American Automobile Association) and we had a cell phone - charged. It was the car's battery.
Seems like we've had a few OOPS! lately so I hope this one was the LAST one for awhile.
Good news! We got home safely and we have a new battery. But gosh! Wasn't it a pretty day for a breakdown?

Glad it all worked out well in the end and you have a smashing photo to show for it with lovely blue skies adn a fence.
A gorgeous scene and image. It does look like a great place to enjoy while waiting for your CAA help. Have a happy Thursday!
A very lovely country scene. You were able, as "they" say, to make lemonade out of lemons!
That's a fear I have is breaking down on the road. I had AAA when I lived in the city but out in the rural areas they're very unreliable and in fact have a reputation for extremely poor service here in Texas.
Os dois, cerca e céu, lindos! bjs, chica
Glad it was (fairly) easily taken care of... but being stuck temporarily beneath such a wide blue sky wasn't a totally bad thing.
Hey, at least you the most of the situation. Great pic.
A battery was an easy fix. :)
And yes, quite a beautiful day you had under that gorgeous sky!
Well if you have to break down that is the prettiest place to be.My dread thought has always been breaking down on the 401 someday. Oops seem to be going around. Hug B
a beautiful place to have been broken down in at least! Lovely!!!

Glad you got a fix to get you back on the road later but in meantime your waiting pause. Your picture take is a delight!
A chance to take notice of your beautiful surrounding.
No day is that pretty in my book. Ha.
glad you got home safe... we just had to replace my battery last week, the good news is, we got in it to go to the YMCA and it made a I don't want to start sound. we got in the truck and went to the pool, then bob went for one when we got home. i love it when the car dies in the garage .. and then yesterday we got in the same car and I said OH NO i forgot to get gas... we went in his truck again... and i rode the fumes to the gas station.
Such beautiful color in that.
Shame the car battery was flat but you had a beautiful day for it! Glad you got home safely.
Sorry about your car, but at least you got a nice photo out it.
glad they could 'rescue' you! and you enjoyed the view and shared it, too. :)
At least it was a pleasant place to break down!
What a delightful photo. Best wishes!
The photo is lovely, glad everything worked out at the end!
It is a lovely spot but I am most pleased that you got things running and got home.

I hate breakdowns, but yours certainly was in a nice area and in good weather. Isn't it good that there is something like the AAA or CAA? In Germany they're nicknamed "yellow angels" since they wear yellow and come to help you. They also fly the rescue helicopters - my mother was transported in one of them. I certainly appreciate them very much.
What a pretty scene!
Ah fate works it's wonders and only people like you, who take the time to appreciate their surroundings, would turn this lemon of a battery into a lemonade experience. It is a lovely field, a lovely day ... too bad you didn't have a packed picnic lunch with you. And good that you had a cell phone and the CAA. Very uplifting post, EGC ...

There are good oops and bad oops EG, this was a fab photo oops :)
Ah, I do agree with Perth -- good oops and bad oops and a terrific photo oops this was indeed!! Always marvelous captures, EG!! Hope you have a beautiful, oops free weekend!!
I have a saying about how important it is to always have a clean windshield on your car. It gives a better view of everything around you when you are broke down.
Beautiful skies, so that does compensate.
Perfect day for breakdown, if there is such! I always think about us...so many times we are just wondering and do not know where we are! the only thing that might save us is our GPS might give some clue to where we are.
Glad things worked out for you!
At least it wasn't in winter, EG!
Well if you had to have a breakdown at least it was a pretty view and a nice day. We once broke down in the middle of no where on a very HOT summer day. Thankfully some people saw us on the road and took us to their house to sit in the shade until help arrived. So glad you made it home safely.
Oh wow, I don't want to break down full stop but I have to admit that this is better than any road around Paris, especially in the morning or evening! Lovely!
a pretty view and a gorgeous blue sky!!!
Good thing you had a cell phone and CAA. Breaking down on a back road isn't the best but the scenery sure is beautiful.
It's a a good message you relay EGCG. "Stay positive whatever happens". I'll try to put that to good use.
What a lovely scene you captured on your breakdown. So glad all turned out well in the end and you arrived safely home. Good your cell was charged!

It sure does! Here's to no car breakdowns. I had one not too long ago, my tire blew up in the freeway!
Worth a Thousand Words
It was a beautiful day and a lovely place for a breakdown. But I'm amazed that you could get a signal out there.
It is a pretty place, but any dead battery out in the country can be a worry. Glad it wasn't bad for you.
Nice fence shot.
Nothing like a technology breakdown to aid one's contemplation of nature....lovely shot!

Glad it all worked out and it was a good day for the photo.
I love the photo opts that 'seem' to come out of no where.
Tina,
I am happy your car broke down, so you could take this beautiful photo and share with us.
But, I am happier to learn y'all made it home safe.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
Absolutely beautiful! Wow!
Grand view of the fields and beautiful sky. Yes. When circumstamces involve waiting around, I'm out with the camera.
Good to read that you have got home safely. Yes, I believe that everything happened for a reason: A view too good to be missed!
Have a wonderful weekend!
