Least Skipper, common here in Ontario
I love the Least Skipper's BIG eyes. True, the eyes are not really very big, as this guys wingspan is a little less than an inch.
These skippers like tall grasses in moist areas. And since they don't stay still for long, I was lucky to capture this one with my lens.
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

yes you did well.I find butterflies very difficult to photograph. Have a great weekend.
Least skipper looks very cute. I like to see them...
A wonderful shot, nice!
When I see a moth or a butterfly 99% of the time I don't know what I am looking at. Thanks to you Camera Girl I will now be looking out for the Least Skipper.
Linda foto! bjs praianos,chica
It looks like it was waiting for your lens capture.
This critter love you, and it stays for you.
Good to see a butterfly that isn't brown. I'll have to have a serious butterfly expedition soon.
You were lucky. I've seen many of these little guys on my walks lately, but they've all been too hyperactive to photograph.
That's one of the clearest photos of a skipper that I've ever seen; they really object to posing, don't they?
i love his fuzzy back and he sure doesn't look to be the Least at all..
Good morning, it is a pretty skipper. I am glad it stayed long enough for your photo. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Cool capture! Have a happy weekend!
What a thing of beauty! I've never seen one.

i love skippers, too. so tiny and fuzzy.
Spectacular!
Skippers can be a confusing lot. Often is is so hard to get a photo of the upper sides of their wings. Thanks for posting comments on our granddaughter's blog post!
great detail on this shot
I live in Ontario but country side.
I have not seen one like this.
Very pretty color.
Love the color of this moth.
Such a beautiful little butterfly.
Very pretty. I have no doubt seen these, but didn't know what they were called.
Ah, I do love this one!! What a beauty!! Hope you have a lovely weekend and, thank you, for letting me know you couldn't see my post -- I've posted some different photos and hope you can see and enjoy them!!
They are the butterflies I remember as a kid - they seemed to be everywhere in those days. Happy times, EG!
Skippers are such great looking butterflies. I've only seen a Large Skipper, so the Least is on my list to see.
Gorgeous macro!
Yes, you did do well to capture him. They don't stay still for long at all. Great photo.
what a beauty. so pretty. ( :
Beautiful!
Superb capture and fine detail!
That is an excellent shot. i can agree that they don't sit still for very long. I have 'chased' many a Skipper with no good results.
It's tough to get good pics of the little butterflies. You did a great job!
