Mid July Wildflowers

 Chicory (Cichorium intibus)

Here's a sampling of the wildflowers I photographed yesterday while ay the McKenzie Marsh, Aurora. The summer wildflowers are beginning to bloom and the weather has gotten quite warm. Well, it is the Dog Days of Summer, July 3 to August 11!

 Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)

Sadly I have seen few butterflies, but I have seen  quite a few bees...at least in my own gardens.

St. John's-wort (Hypercum perforatum)

Please visit Michelle at Rambling Woods for more NATURE NOTES.

Blue, pink, yellow - a primary colors selection. I especially love the chicory. The "butterflies" I have seen look more like moths.

I'm not a fan of floral images though I do take and post some. These are great. I'll try some for myself. I won't know what to call them so I'll just have to say blue flower, yellow flower and so on.

Oh, wow, those are beautiful. As to butterflies, early on, I was seeing quite a few I thought. Lately, not so much, but then I have not been out much. I am just going by my own yard. One thing, I may, just may have seen one monarch...but not sure if I did. I know I have not seen more than one!

A colourful little bouquet. How could anyone classify them as weeds?
