Snail on leaf
While I'm not happy to see snails in my garden, I do like to find them when I'm out walking. I found both of these alongside a woodland path. The top snail is hiding inside its shell.
Snail on ground
The second snail is hiding under some leaves but you can see most of its shell.
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

Consegues sempre lindos cliques! beijos,chica
Up until this year there were plenty of snails throughout Pickering. I haven't seen a single one in 2015. I am wondering if the cold winter killed them off.
One doesn't think of them as being particularly bright or nimble animals but I've noticed that they are very quick to retreat to the privacy of their shells when a camera is pointed at them.
Wish we had some of these here. They make wonderful subjects. :-)
Delicious on toast! (ewww... not really)
Great close ups of the snails and their shells! I see plenty of shells in my garden because the crows do a good job of eating the snails!
Hello, cool find! The snails are neat, I never see with in their shells. Great shots! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Totally hypnotic! Great macros!
They used to love our garden in sarnia but I don't see them much here in Ottawa.
these snails are so pretty, i have not seen pretty ones here, they are all dull gray/beige and solid. what a find. and once again I have to say you have AMAZING Photography skills
Stunning photos! We had a neighbour who would pick them to feed to the koi in his pond.
They do have very attractive 'mobile homes' EG :) Agree about them not being welcome in the garden, they can do so much damage in such a short period!
Both snails have beautiful markings adn these are great shots. I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Fantastic shots.
beautiful shells!
Very beautiful shell design. I have some in my little lily pool.
I know they can be very destructive, but they are beautiful! We have some in our aquarium, I like trying to find where they're hiding. Have a lovely weekend!
Their shells are beautiful. Have a great weekend!
This is so cool!!!
Such colorful, beautiful shells and, of course, your captures are superb as always!! Wonderful way to start my day -- as always!! Hope you have a great weekend!!
Now this is a marvelous find!
Very nice shots!
I only tend to see them when they're crossing a sidewalk after rain.
I haven't seen as many as usual this year, EG! Curious.
Saw small flocks of robins flying around at dusk last night.
Snails are cool,in nature!
I like them, E.G.G.C., I can understand why you wouldn't want them eating your garden plants though.

Hey, they have to have something to eat, too.
These are two very colourful snails. Great captures.
They do make for good photos.
I am trying to be positive. I can definitely say that your photographs are beautiful.....even if I am so sick of them taking over my yard and garden. We've had hundreds of them this year!
We don't have the round-shelled snails here, and the colors of yours are outstanding, particularly the shiny black with yellow trim. We have plenty of slugs, though. Ugh.
I haven't seen any snails in a long time.
These are very colorful - I like both the brown and black, especially with the white/off-white swirls on them.
Makes for perfect candidates to Saturday's Critters!
Have a Beautiful Day, Tina!
Peace :)
Lovely shots! These snails have very pretty patterns on their shells.
