The sheep are in the meadow...
I find it difficult to believe that these sheep are actually WHITE! How do they get so dirty?
Another "white" sheep
Have you ever washed a fleece? I have! When unprocessed wool is wet, it's HEAVY. And you would not believe the dirt, twigs, burrs....
Hey CameraGirl! What are YOU looking at?
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

Lindas ovelhas! beijos, ótimo fim de semana! chica
Good morning, they may be dirty but they are still cuties. Great shots. No, I would not want to wash their fleece. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
I think I'd run them through the car wash first, then maybe give them a good vacuuming. :-)
You're right of course. But then our local sheep are out in all weathers, dodging the tides and taking all the UK weather can throw at them. Wind, rain, fog, frost, pollution etc,And not to mention being chased by the occasional out of control dog.
It's a mucky world out there EG:) I can imagine a fleece would be pretty weighty when wet.
I agree with Revrunner...
Great photos of these fat, wooly sheep. They made me smile.
Lovely photos of these cute sheep! Your blog is really fantastic!
Have a great weekend...

I think they were reading your thougths about how dirty they were.. i assume wool is a dust magnet. never been around sheep but would love to see these.
Dirty or not, it is wonderful to see them in an open field enjoying the fresh green grass. Factory farming has become the way of farming in the US and I am totally against it. It is cruel
and in my mind unethical, not to mention anything about feeding them hormones to "beef them up" (I know that doesn't fit but, "lamb them up" just doesn't work, Ha!).Love these pictures ...

i can't imagine toting that around for a while!

Elas não parecem ser brancas mas acinzentadas.

✿ Bom fim de semana!
-`✿´- Beijinhos.
Where is the little boy that looks after the sheep??? I bet that besides being dirty, that the fleece stinks to high heaven when it is wet!
Great pictures! Did you hear about the Australian sheep that was found after being lost for a while. They sheared 90 lbs. wool off the poor thing.
Really great photos! I love the stare that sheep is giving you!
Hey, hey... wooly bully. Not a baaaaaaaad portrait either. Ha.
Hey, maybe you could start a Sheep Wash, like a car wash!!! Maybe you thought of that and that's why that one is staring at you so hard!!! I think I just heard him say, "Don't even think about it and don't even listen to that old broad!!!" Well, my weekend is now off to a great start!!!
I imagine they get into all sorts of mischief while growing their wool.
They must be just about ready to be shorn. I saw a photo the other day of a sheep that hadn't been shorn in five years! He was carrying around 89 pounds of wool!
Wow! Excellent clicks.:)
Think how hot it must be on a day like today!
So dirty and uncomfortable looking. Who saw these things and thought, "You know, I should make a sweater out of that."
Bet it's hot and heavy when wet.
get down with your Baa aad self!

=^..^=
you are right, my sheep´s were cleaner :)
This weather must be darn hot under those blankets.
For some reason,I think of sheep being white and fluffy, but that obviously is not the case.I have seen sheep around here too and they always look dirty. You did get good photos of them.
Love these sheep! Great photos! Wish I could process their wool and do some weaving! I would love that.
These are wonderfully captured these sheep. Especially this last shot.
If everyone is talking about how dirty their coats are, won't they become rather sheepish?
~
And in addition to the dirt and washing the fleece, I'll be it doesn't smell very good, either. And the poor critters look so darned naked after they're shorn!
Now that the the kind of sheep I was looking for for the 'curly' image for PSHunt in September! Great shots.
Great shots of the cute sheep! I can imagine all kinds of stuff stuck in the fleece. :-)
Wonderful shots and I love the sheep!
Happy Week to you,
artmusedog and carol
They really do get dirty, don't they? I imagine cleaning that wool is quite a process.
=)
