Great photos of the heron, so close! You did a grand job! Please come link up at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/08/strange-visitors-in-garden.html
You got wonderful close up images, I love this gracious bird so much! Last Sunday I saw 5 herons near my place. They were on a field among some cows and for me was a surprise because generally I see only one heron, I mean alone always. Lovely post, thanks for sharing. Leia
Great job! I don't know about prehistoric but that first shot is hysterical!
Re your comment on Ocala: An 81-year old man was killed the other day on the golf course I usually play on Sundays. It started raining and because he couldn't see very well he drove his cart into a sand trap which caused it to roll over and crush him. Very sad.
Awesome captures, as always, Tina!! I do love the first one!! It does indeed look prehistoric!! You do find the best ones and I'm so glad you share them with us!! Hope your week is off to a great start!! Enjoy!!
I've heard that birds are closest to dinosaurs than any other creature (haven't I heard that?) That first photo is a piece of art. At first I thought it might be a beautiful figurine!
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.

The Blue Heron is one spectacular creature. He should look prehistoric. Scientist say they decedents of the dinosaurs.
Awesome shots of the GB heron, they are beautiful. I love to watch them fishing. Have a happy day!
Rather small pickings, I'd say. :-)
There's one at the pond near here, I often disturb him (or her, or possibly them) when I go for my walk.

Wonderful shot with those wings up! And yes, I agree you can see the pre-historic origins - maybe he likes to pretend he's a velociraptor.
