Fall aster
There are quite a few varieties of wild asters in Ontario and, truth be told I'm not sure which one this is. Next time I take photos I MUST take good photos of the leaves and stems as well as the blossoms.
Jewelweed or touch-me-not (Impatiens capensis)
I love these blossoms because they attract hummingbirds, but others appreciate this plant because the juice in its stems is said to cure poison ivy.
Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica)
This plant likes moist soil and some shade. I've tried to grow this showy wildflower in my gardens but alas my soil is too dry.

Lindas e belas flores silvestres.
Um abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
They're all beautiful, but jewel weed is a personal favourite. =)
These flowers are gorgeous. The fields and meadows are putting on a spectacular show with them.
Oh these flowers are exquisite. I've planted impatiens and lobelia here in my indigenous SA garden and enjoyed them immensely. Great images. Thanks for sharing. Jo
the flowers are very beautiful.
Good morning, pretty wildflowers. I love the asters. Have a happy day!
I know I've spotted the first two this fall in various places, not sure about the latter.
A nice range of colours for Autumn.
I tried jewelweed for poison ivy rash but it made no difference. Had to resort to cortisone cream. I'm a bit of an expert in poison ivy as I used to get it every June from our dogs.
Aren't the asters lovely?
purdy shots
Amazing shots!
the jewel and the purple one look a lot like orchids.
I didn't even know there was a larger variety of lobelia! I love the Color of the jewel weed.
Beautiful, I love the first picture, such a colour contrast between the flowers and the background...
Very pretty, especially the Aster!
Happy Wildflower Wednesday!

So beautiful and so colorful!! I love them all!! Great captures as always! And thank you, as always, for sharing the beauty! Hope your week is going well!! Enjoy!
A pretty post for the day, EG!
Very pretty! Touch-me-not obviously means business!
It's always fun to introduce little kids to Jewel Weed and see their reaction when the seed pod explodes.
I did not know there was such a flower as a wild aster- such a gem-like color! the others are quite lovely too. I usually buy a packet of wildflower seeds in the spring, but none of these are in it. Probably it's because these don't do well in Indiana, or not... I think I would enjoy seeing a Jewel Weed pod explode too!
Beautiful, delicate colouring!
Beautiful flowers and nice capture for views! I like wildflower and they seems unique to each other.
So pretty these flowers.
Pretty flowers! I would love to find a natural cure for poison ivy- now that I've had my first ever case..I hope to never have it again!!
I think you ought to stop whining! These are beautiful flowers an your photography is excellent! So there! :)
Very, very pretty!
Gorgeous! Nice to see you still have some wildflowers blooming.
I have never noticed touch-me-nots. They look interesting.
Lovely Asters. I grow some garden varieties here in the UK but I have never seen any wild ones nearby.
Your photos make me hear music

I love the wild flower colours of the fall. I'll be out walking with my camera this weekend as long as the sunshine holds out!
I love the shade of orange on that flower.
love the purple asters!
Beautiful photos of the fall flowers. I find our fall asters are a lot paler for some reason, almost mauve or white. I prefer the dark purple. I've seen the Touch Me Not plants but not the wild Lobelia, which is beautiful.
I wish I had taught myself long ago to always take photos of the leaves of plants/flowers. I should know better by now but I still forget.
These are beautiful!
Beautiful flowers. I think the Asters are my favourite.
Beautiful pictures. I often find that I haven't gotten a good enough photo of the leaves to identify a plant with certainty. There are so many species!
Lovely wild flowers and superb shots of them. I love lobélia but have never seen the wild variety. Such gorgeous colours.
All These lovely flowers. I like the blue one ... :)
awwwwww, my favorite color!!!!
colorful and beautiful! thank you for sharing them with us!
Such pretty wildflowers!
I don't think I've seen jewelweed before - it's very pretty and I can imagine what a sight it would be with a happy little hummer. And I've never seen wild lobelia, either - just cultivars which seem to be pretty adaptable.
Beautiful wildflowers! You caught them well.
The View from the Top of the Ladder
Some of my favorite wildflowers!
