Egret and reflection
I'm always surprised to see egrets here in October because I think of them as being "exotic" visitors to Ontario. After all, we have had a hard frost and there was a thin layer of ice on this water a few hours before I took this photo. They are hardier than they look!
Patiently fishing
Apparently they will stay in our marshes until they completely freeze over, or as long as they can find aquatic treats.
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

Wonderful photos of this regal bird!
Love it! 'Til hell freeze over then. :-)
Hello, beautiful captures of the Egret and the reflection. I think the birds will stick around as long as they can find food. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Your so right about egrets being hardy. Our Little Egrets are now more common than Grey Herons which are much bigger than the egrets. I hope your other species pick up soon.
Duas belas fotografias desta garça que se recusa emigrar.
Um abraço e bom fim de semana.
A lovely bird! Happy weekend!
Pretty creature but very unaccomodating by sitting amongst the weeds like that. :)
so beautiful and you know i love your reflection photos
I really like this reflection! I haven't seen any egrets on our small reservoir.... only Canada geese and swans and ducks.
You got some great pictures of them.
Strange eh? The cormorants are still hanging on at Frenchman's Bay. They should be out of here soon.
Hi!:) Beautiful portraits of the Egret. I have seen a few here in Portugal recently.Such lovely birds to see and photograph.
This one's a stoic, lovely bird!

Regal and handsome he is!! I love the egrets!! He looks confident, maybe he knows something we don't!! Superb captures as always, EG, and thank you as always for sharing the fun and the beauty!! Have a great weekend!!
Thank you for your visit. I am following now. Beautiful Egret and its reflection. Have a beautiful weekend!
I love these big birds. We have them year-round.
Egrets were a symbol to me of unreachable ethereal beauty, just spots of distant white across lakes and rivers, I didn't get to see them up close through someone's camera lens, marvelous shots, Tina!
Great photos with the reflection! And beautiful birds
Have a nice weekend
He must have a lot of down feathers under there, EG!
awesome photos of the egrets, haven't seen them down our way, but I'm always on the lookout ... perhaps next year
Like a dignified ladies hat!

Lovely egret photo with a fine reflection giving two birds for the price of one. Suspect it won't be long before the egrets head south.

such common critters in my parts, but I can't avoid a sense of awe every time I see one nevertheless...they are so gorgeous
