Chippy/ Camera Critters

We have several chipmunks living in burrows around the yard and, yes, in my gardens. This one likes to walk the wall in front of our house. I feed him a few sunflower seeds every day, so I knew he'd appear eventually as I weeded the garden. Since I neglected to leave him any seeds this time, he stayed only long enough time for me to snap his picture. As you can see, he knew I was there and wasn't taking any chances. My husband says if I continue to leave him a few seeds every day he'll stick around longer. ;-)

Lovely picture of a handsome little guy.

Cute! I'm guessing they don't actually dig and eat in your garden or you wouldn't be so welcoming.

Now this is a very cute little fella. He was so nice to stay long enough for you to get the shot.

We have them here too and get some pleasure in watching them work.

I just saw another great chipmunk picture! These make me happy. They are just so fun to watch! I'd probably be guilty of leaving him more than a "few" seeds!

I, too, would be leaving more than a few seeds. Where my husband worked, his crew had the chipmunks so gentle they would all come and take stuff from their hands.

This is a great picture, BTW.

I played too :)

I caught one once and kept him as a pet. He lived 4 more years. I always wondered if he had a longsr life span that if I had left him in the wild. I wouldn't do it again because one shouldn't. MB

What a sweet-looking guy. Nice how you captured him with those green leaves/grass shooting out; provides a nice framework for the shot.

Nice little chap! I had two chippies in my garden last year but haven't seen them this year.
I think last winter was pretty hard on little creatures, as we have very few squirrels this summer, compared to the marauding herds of them we had last summer.

He's a handsome fellow. We don't have chipmunks here in HAwaii, but I always watch for them when I travel to the U.S. Mainland.
