Pussy Willow/ Macro Monday

Pussy willows still on the shrub

Local pussy willows are big and fluffy now. They thrive in areas still wet with spring run-off but I couldn't resist getting my feet wet to take a photo.

Aw...when a kid I used to take these things and rub them across my cheek because I loved the feel of them.

Gorgeous photo!

Glad you were willing to get your feet wet!

I had mine picked for me and took the picture after the fact! :-)

A sure sign of spring when the pussy willows are out.... but this morning.... SNOW! I think the real spring has gone into hiding.

Great choice for Macro Monday.. Love it, EG...

Have a great day.

Let's hope for no damage here the next couple of days due to the upcoming freeze.

I love Pussy Willows but I don't think I've ever seen one up that close - even in person.

You are getting really good with that camera of yours!

I know a little pussy
his coat is silver gray
he lives down by the river
not very far away
although he is a pussy
he'll never be a cat
for he's a pussy willow
now what do you think of that?
meow, meow, meow--SCAT!

I used to sing this to my kids every time we saw a pussy willow, great picture

In Singapore and malaysia, they import Puss willow for Chinese New Year Decoration. It is usually in January and February. I didn't know they bloom so early.

As for Jean Batten, it was amazing for a woman at her time. I have never flown even as a passenger in a small plane. The smallest plane I flew was Fokker Friendship in Borneo. When I went to canada, I flew in a 747. Thanks for visiting my site.

Cheers,

Ann

Beautiful photo of pussy willow. We don't seem to have any around here.

I also love the cyclamen starting to poke its head above ground. Spring is on the way!

I came by looking for Ruby Tuesday, but am glad I found your lovely nature photos.
