Talking Turkey

 Tom Turkey

Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving (although my family is celebrating on Sunday) so Tom Turkey wants to wish all my Canadian readers a happy Thanksgiving weekend.  Tom Turkey is not very worried as he is a main attraction at a Muskoka cranberry marsh.  He reasons the owners there still need him. BUT...

UH-OH!

he hasn't thought very far ahead.  What about Christmas dinner?

Happy Thanksgiving! He's sure to be one good size roaster for Christmas! I don't think he'd fit in my oven!

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. The turkey looks big and confident; wouldn't want to get in its way!

I think Tom rightly thinks that if he makes it past Thanksgiving, he's got it made, period! Hope he's right. Enjoy your holiday!

I've seen quite a few wild ones in my recent travels. They don't seem worried.

Poor turkeys. Anvilcloud's comment makes me wonder if wild turkeys are safe. Not if they live in Texas or New Mexico or Arizona (and I"m sure other places). Turkey season opens for these big birds very shortly. My father brought home a wild turkey for Thanksgiving dinner many, many times!

It's a great weekend for Thanksgiving! Could you ask for better fall weather? That old Tom better watch out and maybe slim down and cut back on the grain if he wants to live to see another fall. He looks nice and plump right now ;)

All the turkeys will be glad to know that we usually have ham at our house when we celebrate USA Thanksgiving in November.
