Fleeting/ One Single Impression
As I watch the sun slip
towards the horizon --
daylight’s finale wedged between
that which has gone by and
that which is to come --
the sun’s glow pierces
the here and now with bliss,
and I wonder
how it is that the now
is forever on the move,
ever fleeting, ever changing,
yet eternally in the present.

"yet eternally in the present"
Beautiful last line...
temporal
indeed, in someways that which was most ephemeral makes the longest lasting impression upon us.
An infinitessimal moment of beauty can brighten a dull life or a dull day years later.
What a brilliant sunset and photograph!
The anomalies of time perfectly expressed. And the photo is stunning.
Love the contemplative, almost mystic, tone of this; lovely sky, too!
Beautiful photo, even lovelier words!
I wait for to hear the sound from the explosion!LOL
Amazing photograph, marvellous the colours, gongratulation !
Wow is the first word that comes to mind. I wonder this, too. Ever changing, ever present--like us, I suppose!
'now forever on the move'...
this is a mystical poem to me...
Thank you--
Beth

Excellent and very beautiful!
One of my favorite things to watch. Lovely poem and photo.
I really like this one - it feels both rushing to capture and relaxing to enjoy!
I love to contemplate the passage of time. We can only live in the present and your poem carries this idea throughout. Lovely.
It looks like a fire. Incredible.
Love the photo and the poem. A lot of wisdom contained in a few words!
