Hey, Hey... Hay!

Yep, it's nearly autumn, all right. Many fields in central Ontario have been mowed, and the hay made into bales: rectangular and cylindrical.

And farmers are picking up the bales and stacking them. This farmer is looking a bit sunburned! He's probably working hard to beat the next rain...due tonight or tomorrow.

LOVE these photos! I miss the country. My favorites are the top center (love the curvy lines), 2nd row left (The sky, the green grass and the tall grass are a well-done combination. Oh, and the hay!) and the bottom one just because it just screams "the farm."

WONDERFUL series!

Wow, you've done it AGAIN!! Nothing better than a barn unless it's hay. I love to see hay fields and you sure got some good pictures of this one.

We don't see those small rectangular hay bales any more... the ones that can be moved by hand. The ones we used to stack in the top of the old barn. Now we need heavy machinery to get the hay in!
Great pics.

Most hay is done here already. Love the pics and can almost smell that fresh mown smell.
Watched the pea harvest in the valley today. Smelled just like fresh peas. MB

My family out in Sask are busy harvesting now - the corns swathed and the combines are ready to roll.

I can almost smell it! Those round hay bundles (whatever hay is called in that shape) are so interesting. I'm only seen the squares in real life.

Poster Perfect Photos, these would go great on a calender also. :D, The last one reminds me of the country western song, She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy. :D
