This is for all of you who might think you know what a go-cart is. ;-)
Yes, this is another photo from the parlour in the Carmody House at the Uxbridge-Scott Museum, see Step Into The Parlour. Perhaps you can see this "go-cart" in the background of last week's photo.
Again, the light wasn't very good, which helps make the photo look older than it really is. To create the sepia effect, I changed the photo to B&W, then added a sepia photo filter.
Some of us might remember when a Coke cost 10 cents, but I bet NO ONE remembers a go-cart complete with parasol and cushion going for less than $8.

What wonderful age and a beautiful setting you have created with your camera. I love the go-cart and sepia is perfect for enhancing and aging this scene.
Go cart? as in wheel chair? I love it. Good job.
I have never heard a wheelchair called a go-cart. That would be a good marketing ploy, even today. I really like your photo and post.
Oh, that's a charming wheelchair! The sepia effect you used is perfect for the room!
You're right! I remember 10 cent cokes in the glass bottles and the cold water coolers but not this! This looks like it was taken many, many years ago! Well done!
My Sepia Scenes are here and here.
Nice go-cart but it is the rocker that has my eyes fixated. A very similar rocker lived on my grandparent's porch in northern Wisconsin. The eldest son, my father, received it from his father. My brother received it from dad and it's now living at his house. That rocker ROCKS. p.s. Nice grainy picture loaded with age and nostalgia.
I wasn't thinking "go-cart" when I saw this, that's for sure. But the sepia toning fits this scene perfectly.
And Kat's actually seen several variations on that photo. Not that one, obviously, but several others. Far as I know she likes 'em.
I love the part about the sleigh runners! I don't suppose they have those too?
WRT old photo filter in PSE 6 .. In the Mac version it is one of the Effects in the Create mode. Choose the button to the left of the fx icon and old photo from the pull down menu to the right. I can send a screen shot of this if you want but I will need an email address.

Interesting. I would have guessed it was a wheelchair.
Perfect for sepia. It could be an old photo. Interesting subject too!
Wonderful shot. I must say I am glad I don't need that kind of go-cart yet.
You got me with this one for sure. I don't know if I've ever seen or heard that this was called a go-cart...
Looks great in sepia..
Well, lets see- Nope I don't remember them, but I would love to have one. The sepia effect is perfect.

Wheelcart looks pretty cool! And it's very nice in sepia tone too :D
Go-cart. I love it. Leave it to someone before us to think up a word we thought we made up. MB
Wow this is truly unique!! This is great. I don't think I remember a dime but I do remember only a quarter.
My sepia is here...

...but wow all the entries are so fabulous and I am a newbie with photography and also a new camera.
I also am in love your header!! Everything is fabulous:-)
Lovely sepia effect.
That definitely looks old. I love it!
I think I'd like one of those to travel about in while sipping my over a dollar coke.
Ten cents - I so remember my brother and I going to the store and buying a coke. We could take the bottle back the next day for change and penny candy.
Sepia adds on to the vintage feel of this go-cart :)
I remember 50 cent movies and 10 cent gasoline, but I certainly don't remember ever seeing this item for sale. I must say it looks like a real deal. Spendthrift that I am, I would spring for the rod and parasol. I enjoy accessories. BJ
I don't remember either a go cart or 10 cents Coke. Something new for me! Makes me wonder if a wheelchair looked different from a go cart or one in the same. Wow, I really love this bc it's making me wonder about things.
In answer to your question, I use MS Digital Image Suite as my photo editing software. I also have PSCS but still learning that one.
WOW! Just WOW!!!
I bet that go-cart wouldn't stand up to some fast cornering!
Still in Florida, sunny/cloudy today.
We are heading to Cape Canaveral to see the shuttle launch tomorrow.
Nice photograph reminds me of a time gone by.
EG, this photo is exquisite! It looks like an original sepia! Thanks so much for such gorgeous sepia photos and participating in Sepia Scenes! :)
I learn something every day!
beautiful photo, the setting and the effects are perfect
A somewhat unusual variety - I bet they would not have won a modern competition!
Great photo. Now see, that's not what I had in mind when I picture a go-cart. I was picturing something Little Rascal-ish.
:-)
Great job on that one. It's beautiful and I love the sepia look.
