Gorgeous skywatch photos!! Happy New Year to you and your family :)
Perfect post!
Love them both, quite a contrast. Wander what is under the blanket of new snow. Guess we will find out as the year unfolds.
Too funny!! Great idea---saying goodbye to 2008. Let's bury it deep. Looking forward to 2009.
HAPPINESS TO YOU AND YOURS. MB

What a smart interpretation! You always have something interesting for SWF. Have a wonderful New Year!
Once again, truly fabulous images!
Your posts always make me feel happy about travelling the skies with you, thank you for sharing your world.
N.B.:
Yes, the ice is thick, but not everywhere: Moments after I took the picture of the children, one adult broke through the ice, near the reeds. Musrats living in the reeds blow airbubbles, which weaken the ice above their travel routes.
Well done in 2008 and I am looking forward to seeing more of your posts in 2009.
Two great shots; Happy New Yeqr!
Great shots. I like your blog scheme. Have a nice time in 2009. You have a good eye for a photograph. Hope you can make many other nice ones.
Beautiful shots. I'm originally from Newfoundland but have come to love farm country here in SW Ontario. Happy New Year!
I love the way you did that. Both appropriate and beautiful shots. Happy 2009!
Portland Oregon Daily Photo sends you heartfelt wishes for the new year. May your 2009 be filled with good health, riches of the mind and heart, loved ones returning home, an increased respect for our fragile planet, and the cessation of wars across the Earth.

Beautiful photos. Like the symbolism of the cemetary photo. May we all have the best year ever in 2009.
Very cute! 2009 sure is starting off cold where you are, but the fresh snow promises fresh beginnings I think!
Lovely shots. Did you sty up to see the new year in? I was in Tottenham, and then in Barrie, sitting in a cold car outside until the stroke of midnight, when we went "First Footing".
Lovely photos, Happy New Year!
