A lot of texture in your picture. Enhanced by the B&W.
This barn has become the playground for some kids, no ? Its ultimate use ?

This barn may not be in prime condition, but it certainly has a lot of character. This is a great monochrome picture.

A nice graphic image and composition also.

Maybe it's twisted, but I really like shots like this one. They're sad in their way, but also poignant. This would have been a marvelous entry in this week's Thursday Challenge!

It makes for a great photo though..

You have found a fine subject for photo at least. Very nice composition and fine structure in the wood.

I love it, what stories that old barn could tell...:-0

It's eerie and ties in with mine about abandoned building. Mojo is right, beauty in the sadness.

The breaks in the window actually add to the interest of the photograph. Also being in monochrome it has an artistic rather than damaged feel. I may be wrong but I suspect a color shot could made it less attractive.

What a great photo.Little bit of work required I think!

A great monochrome shot! The old building, textures and broken windows are made for monochrome - good choice! And great composition!

Answering your question about the tulips; No, I don't have them in my garden - I don't have a garden! I bought them in a flowershop!

Interesting details to look at. I want to know about those strips of wood nailed across the windows.

I think you should open some sort of bed and breakfast and take people on photo taking tours.
Love the barn!

Very fine black and white...you certainly captured the despair of an old barn gradually returning to dust.

Darla,
I suspect the strips are there to keep the windows from breaking. Ha!

Now that's a wonderful monochrome shot - very creative and perfect in b/w.

Daryl said...

No I am sure not but this is one very interesting broken one

The barn's condition is perfect for monochrome shots! The wonderful textures of the wood and the broken glass, and the way you've caught glimpses through the barn - beautiful!

Love the strong lines in this, and the textures -- works really well in sepia. How sad to see such a beauty in it's waning days...

Might not be in prime condition but it's poetic.

Looks sort of sad....I bet it was a beauty in its early years.
