I think it is amazing that trains have existet for a looooong time. I thought maby they wood disapare, but no. I can understand that they are great to use for freight - but in Norway it is still really popular to travel by train.

This reminds me of a Candid Camera shtick they did here, where the engineer leaned out of the train window and asked the cars waiting to cross "which way is north?" LOL.

We sometimes watch the Canadian ice road truckers.....they are huge trucks...:-)
That's a great shot of the train. I always seem to think about shooting trains when they have me stuck at a railway crossing but I don't get very good shots. You did such a good job with this one.

Great Monochrome shot. My Dad worked for the railroad (in the offices)--but we had 'passes' to travel free all over the country. (That was back when people traveled here by train.)
We went to California once and to Florida a few times. I love trains and have a good memories of them.

That engineer looks so bored standing in front of that powerful machine! Probably sees it everyday. I love how there are so many stories that can be read into this photo.
I like to see trains, this one looks good in mono.
I thinks they will be waiting for a long time as these trains are very very very very long. Nice one.
This is so long it will still be travelling tomorrow. I can hear the whistle blow and feel the wind in this cinematic image.
If course we love train shots. This one looks like it has gone through deep snow at one time or another.

Great shot! I love trains, don't see them often enough. I remember as a child running onto the old wooden bridge regularly and waiting for the old steam train to chug under us so that we could be covered in steam. I guess that dates me :))))

Train travel, I am told, or at least freight shipping, is supposed to be very efficient economically. Great monochrome!
I love the repeating pattern of the freight containers trailing out of frame. Gives a sense of the infinite.
