Port Perry Streetscape/Sepia Scenes
I love how the people of this tourist town take pride in their old buildings. This street is alive with people in summer because it leads straight to the lake. And the shops offer many items not found in malls. My favourite is the used book store!

what a lovely old shop frontage
I love seeing beautiful old buildings. The brickwork is always so interesting.
I really reminds me of the small town I grew up in. Great brick building!
I don't know how you get that look, but it's very cool however you do it! I really like how you do your sepia photos!
What a surprise! A town view! ;-) I'm with you on used books and smaller shops, I'm thankful we still have some. Oh and yes, the photo is great (as usual! ;-))
Are you getting this blizzard? What a mess up here!
I've often said the same thing about Beaufort here on the coast of NC. This looks like a nice place to visit, and I love the "muted" look the half-sepia gives this shot.
I can give you a rough idea of when the bridge was built from my shot. The manor house was completed in 1901, so one would assume the trails and other infrastructure date to the same period. It's possible however that the bridge came later since vehicular traffic would have been a non-issue at that time. I didn't realize the place was quite that old -- I would have put it in the mid 1920's as a guess, perhaps even later. But that date's according to the Blue Ridge Historical ... something or other.
Lovely shop frontage. Nice mixture of red and sepia.
I love the architecture - all the curves and the way the building is finished off at the top.
Looks like the shoe store has accompanied that spot for a long time.
The half sepia works very nicely.
Beautiful shapes and patterns!
Love the half sepia here. Very effective. Cool old building.
I like the look and feel to this one too. Nice colors with the sepia!
Hi!
Great shot! I love shopping in old buildings. They have so much more character the the new buildings! Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great evening!

That is a great looking building. Love the coloring and lack of it. Beautiful.
This is just so lovely. I love the old towns that keep their history as well.
We have a town square that has so many original buildings and it's also the county seat...so the old huge granite court house is there as well.
I keep wishing they would realize what a gem they have and refurbish it.
Great entry this week EG. It is a wonderful reminder to all to respect our heritage and keep it!!
And you awesome shot too!!:-)
I like the photo. I like the shops. I like bookstores!
I think we get along pretty well.
Very nicely done!
Wonderful. Old buildings lend themselves so well to sepia. One short step and we are in the past. Love this.
A used bookstore in a resort town would be a goldmine. I love this view of small town living.
What a charming town and street. The sepia adds the right amount of age to these older buildings. The brich arches - nobody designs buildings this nice any more. Nice! And I would patronize a used book store, too...
I love old buildings and old shopping areas like this. There's just so much history in them.
What a wonderful shot EG. I know the town and love Port Perry. That is the nice thing aabout small town Ontario, many have interesting shops and still have the buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
I'm very fond of old buildings, and always take notice when they are preserved.
B.
I love old buildings and these brickworks. People should preserve old buildings.
Looking real good in sepia :)
Brick buildings always seem to tell a story behind it..
That looks like a delightful town to wander around, with the used book store as a bonus.
Nice convertion, like this old building
The clarity of this shot is amazing. You can count every brick. Good work!

I know Port Perry, and love to stop there when I am driving through! And I love the way the half sepia softens all the colours! I did not even know there was such a setting!
I love the old buildings. It is nice to see them well-kept.
Today I am going to a used bookstore. MB
Old buildings are great matches with sepia. So lovely! Best wishes :)
