Pink Moon, Almost/ Sky Watch
One advantage to having a spring snowfall is the photo opportunities - we can hardly see any grungy mud as we wait for the spring greenery to grace the landscape.
Last night we had a bonus, a couple of bonuses actually: a nearly full moon (the moon is full today) and fairly clear skies.
Apparently the April full moon is called the Pink Moon because moss pinks bloom about this time of year. Hmmm. Not this early in my gardens, but maybe in yours!
Actually, the moon does look a tiny bit pink.

Gorgeous photo!! I am so glad someone could take advantage of the moon under that light cloud cover last night.
Gorgeous!!! Or should I say spectacular!!! Pink Moon Huh! I like that. MB
love this shot and the way you have framed it...just a lovely winter/spring shot :)
have a great afternoon
You are so blessed to have this photo opportunity and to get such a gorgeous result! Just beautiful! After our 4 days of blue skies, the thick clouds are back and we could not even see a moon last night. sigh
ooooooh! Very nice! I'm starting to recognise this barn!
Oh this is fabulous and stunning! And even romantic! ;-)
PS. Yes I am a little over an hour to the border. If I went north on I5 it is a pretty straight shot and Blaine is the crossing there but I prefer the narrower and windier (is that a work) Highway 9 and cross at Sumas. 9 is more senic and through lots of countryside.
My sis lives in Kelowna, BC but for many years lived in Lethbridge Alberta. MB
Beautiful, EG... It does look PINK.. What a marvelous photo... That one needs to be framed or entered into a contest. Fabulous!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
every image you post is a wonder. I really like the magic of this one
What a beautiful scene! The moon, the barn, the sky, gorgeous!
So, you got a new camera, went pro, and are doing artsy fartsy shots now. I love you and your work! This is amazing to me.
Beautiful moon shot. It does indeed look a bit pink.

What a beautiful picture! I love the feel - as if it's dark, and still light.
Oh that is truly a lovely photograph.
what a lovely photo, hopefully the snow will have melted today?

Beautiful beautiful photo!!
Take care and Happy SWF
Yes, the snow did offer some interesting photo ops this week, but I will be glad to see mud. Gorgeous photos, so well exposed!
What a peaceful night sky.
Am just dropping my sky link here before i say goodnite.
With sleepy eyes let me say - happy easter!
Beautiful! Mojo had a blue moon. You have a pink one. I'm sure it's the same moon. Isn't it amazing how it looks different to each of us under whatever conditions prevail near us.
Postcard pretty views. Thanks for sharing with Sky Watch Friday.
Great capture, that pic personifies Canada. I love it.
Have a great weekend

Just magical! I love when the moon looks colored like that.
A warm glowing moon over chilly looking scenery. Stunning image!
The moon and the building enhance each other.Lovely picture.
Wow. Still snow on the ground. Getting cooler here.
beautiful winter-spring combo!
Wow.wowowowow.
That's astonishing. It almost looks like an HDR composite, but I can see it isn't. Truly magnificent.
The moon looks pretty much like I saw it here yesterday but the weather is fortunately just the opposite.
Gorgeous photo!
You light up our hearts with such a moonlit sky photograph.
And you shed light on well-worn farm buildings which have seen better days but are still standing - like some of us!
Wonderful shot in all respects.

A lovely, perfect picture, and cross my heart the moon has a pink rim. The picture has a very special ambiance, it tugs on your heart. The lonely farmstead, the bright moon, can you hear a story coming up?
Beautiful! I don't know why but I love taking pictures when there is a fresh snowfall.
I had never heard the phraze pink moon before. Well moss flox doesn't flower until about three weeks later on here so that's probably why. Allthough you are right in saying it has an almost pink tone.
So winter has returned to your parts. Pity but it does make for a nice picture.
Fantastic photo just love it.
What an absolutely gorgeous picture. I hope this makes that last snowfall worthwhile. This would make a great post card or painting.
Great moon shot. It DOES look pink. You have captured this scene perfectly...very beautiful.
Really beautiful! I love how bright the moon is and the lightness of the sky and landscape. Very peaceful.
Truly a wonderful photo all that blue!!I sure wish Spring would set and stay and winter would go away from your world!!
Well I never knew that. Pink moon to me is a Nick Drake album and track. It would accompany this haunting image so well.
Out-of-This-World shot!
this is a wonderful capture!
Lovely picture of the moon shining over the farm!
Lovely moonshot over the farm. Pink moon? Thanks for telling, I've learned something new :)
Happy Easter!
Nice composition and thanks for the Pink Moonn info
WOW! This ia an amazing shot. I would love to go on a moonlight hike in such a wonderful landscape and on such a beautiful night.
Wow that is so picturesque it makes me want to paint it
This is a fantastic shot. A little pink. Feels like a step back in time.
Yes beautiful pink moon!
You make a good point with this excellent post. That is a gorgeous photo.
Not in my garden either. Our 11.5"of recent snowfall almost melted. Rain coming tomorrow.
Beautiful shot EG. I just love all your pictures.
B.
This is a stunning photo but oh so cold. I hope that "stuff" has melted and you will have a nice long weekend with some serious signs of spring! Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend.
Smiles
Just beautiful... Happy Friday.

That is a beautiful scene. Amazingly well done...as are all your shots. Happy skies!
Now that is one beautiful setting.
Yay, the clouds have actually parted enough for me to see the full moon too. Love the photo in association with the farm.
Such a dreamy image! I wouldn't have believed a blue evening like this could exist if you didn't post this. Gorgeous!
Love the old farmhouse too. Wonderful textures.
The moon, the farm buildings and the over all view is a stunner...
Happy Easter to you and your loved ones.
Beautiful :) Never seen a pink moon before :)
Marvellous shot! Like a postcard!
If I've heard of a pink moon I've forgotten. Love the picture!!
Beautiful photo! Love the colors.
My God what a photograph. It's GORGEOUS! I can't help but think that the lucky tree has caught itself something lovely from the sky.
Interesting about the 'pink moon': I'd never heard that before.
Happy Easter, to you and yours!
Isnt that so pretty! Love the blueness here!
Btw, I'd like to invite you also to join http://postcardperfect.blogspot.com/. :) See you there!
Wonderful! Beautiful and romantic.
What a very British sort of name! I expected Gwillimbury to be in heart of the Cotswolds!
Love your moon on the snow!
Never heard of pink moon. Lovely photo!
Lovely shot. Postcard perfect!
I have an uncle in Ottawa who spent years sketching the barns and silos all over the province. He's saddened by the disappearance of most of them.
That's a postcard shot!!
