Now, that's a very good question! More to the point, perhaps, where have all the goldfinches gone from around here? I have had NONE on my thistle feeder this year. :(
That's a gorgeous picture, by the way. I love it. :)
great photo of the goldfinch! fun little birds and i often wonder too..how to birds not get hurt from the prickly stuff?! it never seems to bother them though!
Great image! I'm pining for a telephoto lens as I type. We've had goldfinches at our feeder for a couple of days now and I've strategically placed it near a window so I'm hoping to be able to lean out and get a good photograph. Won't be anything like this since I can't change the background - love the soft focus background and the crispness of the spines. Very nicely done!
East Gwillimbury is a rural town less than an hour north of Toronto, Canada's largest city.
My family calls me CameraGirl because I take my camera with me wherever I go.

Very very carefully. That is a great picture
Now that is a good question. Wonderful capture!
Oh--poor little goldfinch... I'm sure his little 'piggies' are hurting!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
This is an awesome photo! Maybe his little feet are so tiny that they aren't quite so prickly!
Well he looks a bit tippy toed at that. That is a super picture. You must have a good zoom on your camera.
BTW: mine is back in the shop for the third time and I told the guy I just want a new camera or my money back. So we will see. MB
The wonders of nature!
Just adorable, today your blogs are full of lovely little critters!I also loved that kitty!
This one is so beautiful!

hanging by you toes is his motto!
Awesome shot of the Goldfinch.
That sweet little goldfish appears to be hanging on with just its tippy toes. Very nice macro.
That is a venture I wouldn't have liked to try - impressive shot!
Yes, very carefully! Lovely bird portrait!
I don't know how the goldfinch does it and I don't know how you do it either. That is such a wonderful, clear, stunning closeup.

I notice it is up on it's toes. Very tricky I'd say! Great shot EG!

on its tip toes...that's how :)

On tiptoes. If the little guys can walk on top of two feet of powdery snow without sinking in, a few thorns won't be a problem.
Marvelous portrait.
fantastic shot!
LOL wow, good capture! The bird doesn't seem to mind it.. AT ALL! Haha!
Much Love,
Great photo. It looks like the little guy is perched very carefully.
It's sturdy little feet aren't sensitive like ours I bet!
Great capture!
Lovely. Those birds have their ways.
Ouch! I was wondering that same thing myself when I saw the photo. Very nice macro job.
