Front Bell/ Sepia Scenes

Bell in Front Yard of country property

The bell looks old but I'm not so sure about the wooden structure it's in. What do you think?

Usually those bells have an inscription on them with a date. The bell could be a really old one and when these people bought it, they could have constructed the "home" for it. On the other hand, maybe it is a historical bell from the area. . . I wonder. . .

It is hard to say. It does look old but......?
An old school, just a small wood building, was torn down near hear but they kept the bell tower as a yard ornament and one day it was for sale but way out of my range. I would have loved to have it. I hope you find out the story behind this one. MB

You do find the neatest things...I have never seen anything like this. I love it.

If it's not old, they made it look old or you did in the picture. I bet that bell weighs a ton.

The whole thing looks like it came off of the top of a school building. I don't know if the structure is old but it is fitting for the bell I think.

I don't know about the wooden structure over the bell, but it does help make for a wonderful sepia photo.

It looks old to me. I'm not sure they build them like that any more! Great find!

I don't know--but it is an odd combination.

Somehow it looks to me like something that has been left to long out in the rain. Very fitting sepia.

The dormers look old, and perhaps it is. It seems that today, architects seem to utilize details of the past in the new dwellings, but they don't feel old. This does, so therefore, it looks like it is. Thus a nice capture and a great question!

Beautiful! I love bells (probably the Catholic in me)! I come from a former Portuguese colony and we still ring bells when a person dies and during mass and to announce the start of mass in our churches there. I don't see that here.

The structure looks old to me. Certainly older than the satellite dish on the right.

Hmmm... those fake windows on the bell protection structure catch my eye. Looks like a wishing well in some ways.

The bell and its wooden house both look quite old to me.

Interesting question to ponder.

Nice find EG!

The bell may be older than the wooden structure but it's weathered and old looking too.

Strange to see this on the ground. It seems it belongs to a roof.
