Hoar frost on dried flower
Sometimes super-saturated air lands on something very cold - such as this plant - and freezes quickly, to form crystals. I was lucky enough to capture this just as the sun hit it and before the crystals melted.

BRRR! Looks pretty darned cold!
We had minus temperatures again last night, and we have heavy frost and ice again this morning, but I'm not going out there till it's gone. No, not even for Macro Monday! LOL!
My sister was just telling me about the hoar frost in Alaska. Now I get to see it up close! Beautiful photo!

'Tis beautiful indeed!
Wow, wow, wow!
Amazing macro view of something I've never seen in person. Hoar frost doesn't happen where I live. This is beautiful. Nifty ruby 'bug' for Ruby Tuesday too ;-)
Hugs and blessings,

Very nice. I know my neighbors laugh at me when they see me taking those kinds of pics (not as good as yours) and I hold my breath for a long time... then let it all out after the shooting sequence.
