Trillium bloom in Ontario's hardwood forests in April and May
In 1937, Ontario adopted trillium as it's official flower. The name "trillium" came from the prefix "tri" meaning three, as each blossom has three petals and each plant has three leaves.
The blossom is associated with peace and hope.

I remember when I lived in Ohio for a few years, they carpeted the forest floor in some areas. They are so beautiful. Unfortunately, they don't grow here in Alaska. Thanks for sharing.:)
