Swan Family/ Watery Wednesday

Papa Swan

Peeking through the cattails, my lens captured Papa, who looks like he was admiring his reflection but was actually about to plunge his head into the water to eat some yummy algae.

Mama Swan and five cygnets

Mama sensed I was behind the cattails so decided to take the rest of the family further down the creek.

Can't thing of anything more graceful than a swan. Those babies are way high on the cuteness scale!

Wonderful family photos! Swans are so lovely to watch and you did a good job of hiding to capture mama and all the cygnets.

Aw...the algae I can skip, but those little swaneees...now I'm going to be singing "Way Down Upon the Swanee River" all night!

Cygnets. Thanks EG; I learned a new word today. "The Five Cygnets..." It sounds like the name of a band. They are not "ugly ducklings," but really quite adorable.

Oh man... those babies are cute!! All we get around here are Canada Geese. Bring us some swans!

LOVE, love these shots ... Dad and his reflection (even if he is looking for breakfast) and Mom and the little ones ... I LOVE Mom Nature! :D :D

I would love to have been with you watching this family...I have never seen cygnets, and only the adults from a distance or flying overhead.

The reflections of the swan in the first shot is so beautiful as is the swan. I absolutely love how you captured the parent and baby swans in the second shot.

Both shots are pretty! As if the Papa was saying "mirror-mirror"... You captured a great reflection!

Although Mama is graceful, Papa is also as graceful!
